Hey yall, iam wanting to start a H.O. Lexan Body Racing Club in my town. I have some good ideas, and iam wondering how other clubs are ran. Iam gonna start by gettin my friends from High School involved. And since iam attending a all day, all nite, then all day the next day party with some of my good friends next Tues/Weds. I thought ill start there.
Heres what iam planning:
-Iam wanting to setup a 2-Lane Road Course at the party. Itll be Crash & Burn Style Racing. Race to 10 laps or the 1st racer that crashes in that heat. The winner moves on to the next round. Itll be Elemination Style Racing. Thus, making them drive the cars and stay on the track to win. The lanes will by powerd by its own power supply via Terminal Track. So there will be no power surging goin on. And we will be using the stock AFX Controllers.
-Since i love Lexan Body racing, ive already built 2 "Restricted Ms" Class Cars. They are stock LifeLike M Chassis with Slip-On tires and a Lexan Body. Ive also built 2 Tyco 440X2 Hardbody Cars with Slip-On Rear tires. For the 3rd Class i wanna do a "Open M" Class. LifeLike M Chassis with Slip-On Tires, Lexan Body, Slilver Kits, Independet Front Tires, and possiably a Hot Stock Motor. Ive been testing the "Restricted Ms" cars, and they are a fast, driveable cars. Since all the racers are rookies, i wanna start out with beginner cars. Ill still bring my 2 P-Cup (Wizzard P3) Cars for show. And all the cars are mine. But mention to them that they can build there own cars also.
By doing this "Exahbition" at the party, hopefully ill gain some racers. Iam gonna handout a broshure about the cars/rules they can buy/build, and what dates the races are. I plan on racing on Sundays at my track in my room. But iam also gonna try to setup some races at other tracks around the area. Ive got 2 good race buddies 15min. away from me that have 4-6 lanes with real power supplys. Tracks that are really built for racing. Ill be talking to them too and see if they would like to join also.
But, since my track i have aint really built for racing yet, aim gonna run my races at my house like the style of racing iam gonna do at the party. And at the other tracks, ill run them how UTAC runs the races. So everybody gets used to that style of racing.
And, one of the guys that helped me ALOT (Gary Boyd) He has a Rookie Race Series at his house. So, iam gonna talk to Gary to see if my guys can run with his guys. Most of his racers are kids that his son goes to school with.
Also buy racing at differnt tracks, they will be introducted to Competive Racing. Hopefully they will attend the real local races (UTAC, MHRA) with me. Ive already got one friend that lives a mile away from me saying that he wants to race with the "Big Dogs".
Theres my plan. Comments, and Suggestions are welcomed. Tyring to figure everything out 1st, and also see how other clubs are ran around the U.S.
Happy Holidays to everyone!
