I have a 7hp snow thrower that I picked up this summer at an auction. It has the 110 electric start on it which is great btw Runs good but my problem is that the augers aren't working but the part that throws the snow up I think it is the impeller is working fine
I need to know what to look for so I can get it fixed up without too much money
The augers spin with the it off and I can here some noise every 3/4 of a turn
by hand
the model # is 910995 the serial is 093428
LMK what you folks can help me with

Thanks

Sounds like the sheer pins are ....well...sheered. If it has them. That or the main gear in the middle of the main auger is shot.

The experts on here can give you better directions, but that sounds logical to me. I think both the main auger and the impeller (the little auger or "second stage") are run off of the same drive shaft. So if one is turning with the engine and not the other it's most likely sheer pin or gearing related.

My 2 cents. Good luck and if this doesn't help wait for better advice from the pros.

Agree with Maytag, either the sheer pins are sheered or there is a problem in the auger gear case.

One thing you can do is try to spin the augers manually while the power is off. If they spin freely, then the shear pins are broken. To repair, get some new ones the right size. There are a couple small holes in the middle of the auger shaft. Turn the auger while looking through the small holes until you see the broken pin. Mine have always stayed in the auger drive shaft. Tap them out with a nail and pop the new pins in.

The pins are still in there or atleast it looks like they are as the bolts IE pins are sticking out both sides
The auger can spin freely with it off

I will check in the morning and take the pins out to see
