OK, I don't have BBC America and had to wait until this came out on DVD and Netflix shipped it but WOW! This show takes a dumb and overworked premise and couples it with great acting, great characters, great scripts and incredible effects to make it a must-see show.

If you haven't bought or rented this, find the nearest time anomaly and do so.

Not to mention hot babes with British accents. I really liked the gal that played Cutter's wife, she was a nice conbination of sexy and dangerous. And the guy who play's Cutter is really good as well. I watched the first season on BBCA, I really liked the season finale, and am looking forward to season 2.

Now that is good news. I assumed BBCA was airing them as they were released, obviously not.

I picked up a bootleg DVD set of this series at WonderFest '07 after hearing about it over at Starship Modeler. Immediately fell in love w/it and must've watched my DVD set a dozen ore more times since I purchased it. I was jazzed to hear it was on BBCA. Got to catch Season Two when it aired in September/October and am even further hooked. I can't wait to see what direction they're taking this, especially w/the character of Helen's tampering. That evil woman knows a whole lot more than she's letting on. :D


PS: Fixed the title soon as I saw it on the main Models page. :)

Saw some of the eps on the flight over to WF '07 and thought it was pretty good and quite clever - although I might think twice about swimming in pools again after one of those eps :)

Later, after getting back home to NZ I found that a UHF network had picked it up - and I can't get that station where I live (down in a valley and below their transmitters). Found that out when said network picked up Odyssey 5.

You can pick up Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD thru Amazon.com America - tho there might be an Australian or New Zealand version I don't know about? Link to the DVD set. I'll be picking that set up, eventually. It's something to think about if you have a mult-region DVD player, Jim. I'd also think that there's got to be a Region 2 set available somewhere online!

I'm probably one of the most prone to notice, but has anyone else detected the similar structure of Primeval to Gerry Anderson's UFO?
Secret government agency deals with dangerous and unpredictable incursions by potentially hostile unknowns. The team is run by a blonde guy who had a bad marriage that keeps coming back to haunt him. Second in command is a good looking man of action/ladies man. Hostile government liason that doesn't care for the man or the methods used to contain the threat above Cutter in the command chain. Hot babe operative/s that parade around half dressed.
Then throw in Will Robinson/Wesley Crusher/Brains just because the network demands a boffin. Add dinosaurs and time tunnels, stir well.
The actors even resemble the folks from UFO...
