Hello everyone,
A great time was had by all once we got a minor computer glitch resolved. We had to re-start the T-Jet race three or four times(once well into the fourth segment) due to this. Ricky even swapped computers with another one from the "Yellow" road course. That computer wouldn't work at all, the screen kept showing a "com port error". It turned out that the com plug-in under the track was loose and losing it's connection. Once it was screwed back into the track board the problem was resolved.
Several "regulars" had scheduling conflicts and were unable to attend. Still, the competition level didn't suffer as everyone was pretty competitive (except me, my T-Jet went out to lunchhttp://www.slotcarillustrated.com/portal/forums/images/smilies/noidea.gif). Here are the race results:
Chris Walker 69 laps, No track calls!
Ricky Parker 62 laps, 1 track call, =61
Danny Hamby 66 laps, 6 track calls, =60
Skylar Spake 62 laps, 4 track calls,=58
Bob W. 11 laps, 4 track calls, =major headache!
For the M/T-X/T race we were joined by Donnie Dunovant. Here are the race results:
Chris Walker 116 laps, 4 track calls, = 112 laps
Bob Weichbrodt 108 laps, 5 track calls, = 103 laps
Skylar Spake 103 laps, 8 track calls, = 95 laps
Danny Hamby 103 laps, 9 track calls, = 94 laps
Ricky Parker 103 laps, 9 track calls, = 94 laps (less than 1/2 lap behind Danny)
Donnie Dunovant 56 laps, 12 track calls(limit ten), DQ'd
Super Stock results:
Bob Weichbrodt G3R 175 laps, 1 track call, = 174
Danny Hamby G3R 174 laps, 9 track calls, = 165
Skylar Spake ??? 166 laps, 3 track calls, = 163
Chris Walker G3 158 laps, 9 track calls, = 149
Ricky Parker G3 156 laps, 9 track calls, = 147
Donnie Dunovant G3R 122 laps, 10 track calls, = 112
I was fortunate enough to will the race. I had decided to run my G3R instead of my T2. Into the second segment the car "slowed down" about 4 tenths a lap, so I figured either the arm was going south or the brushed were worn down. I ran the car here at home briefly Monday night and it was again "a rocket", so I think I'll tear it down today and try to figure out what is going on.
Thanks again to Ricky for hosting us, the Maxx Trax was great to race on!

Sincerely,

Just curious Bob, how are you using track calls as part of your race format? I'm used to maybe 1 or 2 track calls per main so these numbers appear staggeringly high.

Since we didn't have enough racers to fill the need for turn marshals we used the HOCCOC method of keeping track of each driver's wreck with a "track call". The race sheets we were using have a section where you can keep track of each driver's wreck/come off. At the end of the event the laps are totaled and the number of track calls are subtracted for the overall total.

Thanks! Makes sense under the circumstances...
