Superbird77 12-16-2008, 11:14 AM Very nice stuff! Your photos are great, and reveal each car's design very well. I haven't received mine yet, but here are some quick observations: :p
It is interesting there is no fever for these series on the bay. I think every other series was fetching good money, at least at the beginning. I only saw Ford GT to sell for higher prices but all the others don't sell if the opening bid is too high.
I find the above interesting, as it seems that the market for 1/64 models is very popular. Maybe it's the fact that there are many alternatives for muscle cars in this scale: Johnny Lightning, Greenlight, Hotwheels collectibles etc...
All the Kyoshos in this series look very nice to me (at least in the pictures), Vette seems to be a little high in the front, could be because of the attachment to the base. I'm a bit disappointed in Saleen, as the wheels don't look right to me. They look to big and they should be more flush with the bodywork in my opinion.
Wow...that was exhausting... :o I'm sorry for all the spelling and grammar mistakes. :p
Atencio 12-16-2008, 04:39 PM I believe you are right. Looking at the cars, they are nice overall but I as well most of the collectors here probably have the cars all ready from HW, GL, JL, what have you. Nothing really strikes out as "wow". For example, when I got my Kyosho Fiats or Audis there were like 8 or 9 cars I didn't all ready have samples of from someone else. As it is, Kyosho included a Cobra and 69 Camaro which are the two most represented cars I have from diecast makers.
I wonder how the Japanese market likes the castings? A friend's relative in Japan was checking for me on the Gulf GT40 before I found one and said she was able to find all the castings in stores except for the GT40's.
sheldon 12-16-2008, 09:53 PM My problem with Kyosho is the lack of features. The proportions and especially the subject mater are pretty good. But there are no opening panels, and the undercarriage as well as the interior detail are all pretty weak.
In fact, Kyosho can't even begin to touch M2/HW/Shelby Collectibles for features, but are respectable when compared to Greenlight or JL.
Nice cars sir.
I bought a sealed case myself, however, I was a bit disappointed with some of the cars' wheels; a lot of the wheels don't roll nicely or roll at all. Nonetheless, I think the cars were pretty impressive.
GLH Turbo 12-17-2008, 05:15 PM Alright, I need to get all 3 colours of the Viper. Where'd ya get them and how much?
Superbird77 12-17-2008, 06:01 PM GLH Turbo: You can pre-order them on Henri's site: tinytoycars.com or you can try ebay. Sometimes all color variations are sold together. This could be the best option for you, as you can save the shipping costs.
Nice photos. I was considering picking up the Mustangs to add to the collection. However, I'm not as impressed with the Mustang as I thought I would be, especially considering the price. I have several of the JL versions and to be honest, the Kyosho doesn't look much better from what I can see. Maybe the wheels have better proportions, which accounts for a lot, but the rest of the casting doesn't look so hot. It would be interesting to see how the mustangs look from a three-quarter view.
JasonZ 12-20-2008, 12:02 PM Very nice pictures.
Superbird77 12-24-2008, 05:19 PM Just received four cars from the muscle car series - both Camaros, Firebird & Mustang. I have to say I'm slightly disappointed. But don't get me wrong, castings are great, I just expected some more detailing and Kyosho's crispness (it's actually difficult to describe it, it's the overall feel of Kyosho minicars).
Tampos on some places are not delicate as they were in previous series (Alfa, Maserati...), headlights on Firebirds are only painted (rear lights do look great though) and the rims look somehow flat, front grill on Camaro SS is turned upside-down (at least on my item)...
There are very obvious fingerprints inside the windows (well, at least this is a proof that they are hand-made ) , steering wheel on Mustang is collapsed and so on...
I have some other 1/64 muscle cars in my collection, so that can be a reason I'm equanimous. If these were first muscle cars in my collection, I'm sure I'll be all over them. :) They are still cool though, especially to have them in the growing Kyosho family. My favorite is metallic blue Mustang Mach 1, painted beautifully, with great wheels and nice details.
Ok, I'll shut up now, and try to find a camera to take some pictures. :p
rioredgt 12-24-2008, 07:44 PM Nice cars sir.

Speaking of wheels, I saw a Trans Am on eBay with a rear wheel from the GT40. I hope Kyosho doesn't start to suffer from quality issues.
