my charger says 8.405 at peak volt and i cant get it to go any higher.Which would be ok but....on a voltmeter it says 8.32.how can i make my charger go higher?

if your charging a lipo then 8.405 is fully charged DO NOT GO ANY HIGHER !! if it's a nmh i'm not sure what's wrong then ...

its lipo but my question is can i MAKE it go higher on my charger? When its fully charged (8.40) if i take it off and put it on a voltmeter(tried 3 meters)its 8.34,8.35.

I'm guessing that's just a normal resting voltage once you take it off the charger. After my lipo is done on my GFX it normally reads 8.35 or so. Most chargers are designed to shut of at 4.2v per cell with a lipo so I don't know as there is a way to "force" it to charge higher.

it checks 8.35 as soon as its taken off?????

While I don't have experence with the Checkpoint charger I would suspect it is measuring voltage in the chrager. Since you have voltage loses in the wiring and plugs, you see this voltage loss. Some chargers have voltage sensing leads to directly measure voltage at the battery.
I don't believe you can change the cutoff voltage on the charger. Shortening the leads as short as possible should minimize the voltage loss.

You can try to charge a second time with the lowest rate, it may get a bit more charge in before it shuts off. It isn't meant to be adjusable by user , but there is a calibrate menu on theose type chargers. I don't recommend changing values unless ne knows what one is doing. I can't even remember how to get to it now. Some used to get to calibrate by pushing both buttons during power up , but all that does on the TC1030 is to reset factory defaults. I know, not much help.
You can read the output voltage compared to a DVM to see why it is off , maybe it aggrees with dvm, maybe not. Power up charger and plug in battery, push left button 3 times (or right button 4 times)

Yes that is what I mean by "resting" voltage. There isn't any amperage being applied to the battery so it is in a resting state. My packs are the same.

The only thing i know is to get a charger with a built in balancer or get a turbo 35 w/ lipo update.
