I am hoping that someone can help with a problem that I am having. I bought a used Futaba 3PKS with a FASST 2.4Ghz Tx module. No receiver included, so I bought a new Rx 603FS from Tower and I am having trouble matching the ID to the transmitter. The LED on the Tx module is solid green as it should be indicating that it is transmitting. When the Rx is powered up, the LED flashes green. If I hit the switch on the Rx, it is supposed to match up to the Tx and the go solid green. It never goes to solid green. Only stays flashing green. If i hold the switch on the Rx, it will flash red a few times and then go back to flashing green. Never solid green indicaitng that the ID is matched.
I have tried two different brand new receivers with the same problem. (sent the first one back to Tower thinking it was defective) Anyone have any ideas? I am guessing that the problem is the Tx module, but have no way to be sure.

Do you have the transmitter in ppm mode?

Are you using a bind plug?
not familiar with the fasst system, but you need a bind plug with spektrum, I wouldn't expect much of a difference between the two.

No plug on the FASST system.
Make sure the transmitter is either in PPM or HRS. If you are using HRS mode, YOU MUST USE DIGITAL SERVOS.

Thanks for the responses. I have tried it in both PPM and HRS. No good either way.

When switching "modes" you have to power off the transmitter for it to complete the switch.
It really should be simple.
Are there any other racers that have a 3PK that you could try this out with?

I know it should be simple, easier that setting a speedo to a transmitter. This is why I feel something is defective, like the Tx module although it shows solid green. Just trying to find a way to be sure. Given the limited time at the track, I hate to ask another racer to let me try to link my Tx to his Rx, taking up valuable practice time.

You mite find that some of your fellow racers are nicer than you think, Give it a try, Most of them would probably be happy to try and help you out. My only suggestion otherwise, Is as was stated earlier, Check to make sure the transmitter is in the correct mode, shout it off and then turn it back on, it should sink with the receiver. Otherwise put a call in to futaba, maybe they can talk you trough it.

See if they can bind to your car, that will eliminate the need for them to have to change anything. If they can bind to your rcvr, it is good and it is your module.
I just thought of this. Take out the module and be sure all the pins are straight.
