Hey drtrcrm87, how oftem would you guys be interested in running? Carpet oval correct? 4-5 guys for each class or 4-5 guys total and each one runs a different class? Do you think we could get more interest if i were to make it banked? Also would you only be interested if it were ozite or if i used outdoor carpet ould that be fine? Does anyone know how much a NEW amb system costs with no club transponders? any body seeling one used? What classes are you guys interested in running? As i wanna start running 1/10th and 1/12th oval pan and already do run oval 4wd and will be running oval 1/18th soon enough! just let me know! Thanks, Trever DrtRcrM87 12-16-2008, 06:21 PM Trever,Po-town is 20 mins from home for me.I can run a few classes,SK,Pancar,EDM(Dirt car on carpet)they FLY!!! Whatever you wanna go with.I'm not big on smaller scale stuff (re:eyes, age, etc.) As for carpet,Ozite is where it's at............ and I do do know someone with a 2nd AMB system that might just let it go. I do have personal transponders already myself. Keep us posted.I can spread the word to a bunch of guys that run SK,Pancar, and EDM rite now. Trever007 12-17-2008, 06:46 PM where are you guys running as of now? how many guys you think ya could get? how much you par per class now? i was thinkin like $15 first class $10 for an additionl. DrtRcrM87 12-17-2008, 07:31 PM As of late,I've been going to R/C Madness in Enfield CT.on a limited basis, about 2 hour ride. race fee is $15.00 per class, not sure of 2nd class fee. There's a ton of guys in the New England area that would come. Alot of SK,and pancar guys.A few have played with D.O. cars on carpet,a real good time. Trever007 12-18-2008, 06:26 PM dirt oval cars are carpet are fun to watch and i would prolly have to get one if i seen emm run every noight lol. i just love how they really dont handle and you have to actully DRIVE them. I also have a HD Assassin 4wd oval car! Things pretty sick but 2-months after i bought it my track closed its doors. i never got to tweak it and it never really ran to well at all. i got it all set up how i think i would like it and am just waiting for a place to run. I am also going to buy a pan car prolly a HD Pro 3 just so if i wanna travel i can. ya know not to many places run 4wd oval. and i will be buying a 1/18th 4wd oval car soon enough. and prolly more. now all i have to do is find a place with reasonable rent to put the track. i have found alot of places but they never answer there phone so if you could offer any help in this area that would be a great help. Thanks again Trever DrtRcrM87 12-18-2008, 06:32 PM Trevor,Not sure what you'd consider reasonable rent, but count on having to find a commercial location to put the track in.I'm hoping you have an awesome job,or are a lotto winner................I can get racers. lidebt2 12-19-2008, 09:51 AM Hey lidebt2, how often would you come up? What are you lookin to run? Carpet oval? I run IRS's Shock Wave 1/10. Depending on the weather and what day, every other week. There is a banked track already in CT. Flat carpet is fine with me or banked. CRC's carpet is the best to buy. Does anyone know how much a NEW amb system costs with no club transponders? any body seeling one used? I saw one for sale either here on RCTec or Hobby Talk What classes are you guys interested in running? As i wanna start running 1/10th and 1/12th oval pan and already do run oval 4wd and will be running oval 1/18th soon enough! just let me know! Thanks, Trever Answers above Trever007 12-22-2008, 06:12 PM thanks guys! I am not a lotto winner lol and im not a self made millionair either. My job isent bad but i really want to start my own shop so that would help out with money also. Im only 20 years old and just cant seem to drop the hobby. if no one else wants open a track around here i guess im gunna have to do it myself. so thats where i stand money wise. i am still lookin and will keep you all poseted if there is anymore interest please post numbers of racers and what classes. also post what nights best for you guys. Also this will not only be an oval course altho thats what i do so if there no interest in oval theres no track ya know what i mean. but if there is interest in road course also please let me know. Thanks again, Trever DrtRcrM87 12-22-2008, 06:38 PM Trever,As a potential track owner,I would kinda set forth what "you" want to run. It appears carpet will be the deal,so..........theres plenty of classes to run. You could run anything you like in circles.Mini's rite on up to whatever. I can't guarantee people numbers, but I know plenty of guys to get some classes going. S/K is hot stuff in the northeast. There's an SK Shootout @ Turn-4 Speedway the 27th,and they're gonna do a 21.5 Li-Po exhibition race along with 4-cell w/ 17.5 If you can ,take a ride up to the race and see what I'm talkin about. R.C. 12-22-2008, 10:03 PM What happened to the tracks that were there? Running a track is a huge pain in the butt and you won't have time to race yourself. Trever007 12-23-2008, 05:34 PM well the one track that was neer by has shut down due to the building being condemend. It was a shop operated track. there are no other tracks with in an hour and a half of where i live. Also the way i plan to run it will not be a pain for me. Cause my plan is to not actully run it but have a friend of mine do the running of the track and myself just be the "owner". Also carpet will def be the thing. Oval is what i like to run so that is a must! I have run 4WD oval with a HD Assassin conversion as well as 1/18th oval with a RC18t. I plan to run 1/10th pan car and possibly 1/12th pan car also! So all thoes classes are what i run and the pan car classes are a must! I know it will be hard to find NEW guys to run a 4WD class but the old ones from the old track might come back. And i already have a bunch of guys running 1/18th in the hobby shop neer by who would run. so pan car guys are what i need new! As well as any other oval or road course class you want to run! Please let me know! And belive me i know numbers are no gaurentee! Thanks, Trever DrtRcrM87 12-23-2008, 05:50 PM Trever,You run 18th over in Mahopac, yes?? Trever007 12-23-2008, 08:51 PM no i run at rampage hobbies in hyde park. this is also the shop that used to run the 1/10th track in poughkeepsie. Trever007 12-30-2008, 03:53 PM any more interest in this track? Thanks guys, Trever Trever007 01-19-2009, 06:21 PM Bump To The Top!!! oldtimer 01-19-2009, 06:33 PM You build it they will come . There are 2 tracks in CT that run the s/k div and it is a blast. If you build a track do not make it to big and not too small .The big tracks tend to be all about the horsepower and who has the most money. make it banked and about a 165 run line and you should be able to pack the house . Good luck and let us know what is going on . Thanks DrtRcrM87 01-19-2009, 06:38 PM Trever,Make it happen!!!!!! GT2 01-19-2009, 06:41 PM WE NEED MORE OVAL TRACKS:thumbsup: Trever007 01-22-2009, 08:19 AM ok Oldtimer GT2 and DTR where are you all from? Do you think it would have to be banked? As i was thinkin make it banked at first but than i had second thoughts. As if i ran banked with my cars than wanted to go somewhere else to race (most likly flat) the set-up would have to drastically change. Just askin your opinion on this. Thanks, Trever DrtRcrM87 01-22-2009, 08:21 AM Trevor,Gotta crawl before you can walk, build it flat 1st.MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!! Trever007 01-22-2009, 06:03 PM where u guys from? would you make the trip weekly? maybe twice a week? or only twice a month? which is it? DrtRcrM87 01-22-2009, 07:44 PM Trevor,I'm 20-25 mins from Poughkeepsie across the river. matt_s86 01-22-2009, 07:47 PM "If you build it, they will come." lidebt2 01-22-2009, 08:33 PM where u guys from? would you make the trip weekly? maybe twice a week? or only twice a month? which is it?
