View Full Version : Aurora Controller Conversion? sjracer 12-08-2008, 09:57 PM Is it possible to convert an Aurora Speed Shifter into a useful controller ( Parmaish type) with brake and alligator clips. sjracer 12-08-2008, 10:06 PM I want to put alligator clips on the end also. GoodwrenchIntim 12-08-2008, 10:26 PM Yes, just cut the end an solder alligator clips to the wires, for a brake im not sure if the aurora has the big first band like the parmas where the brake wire goes sjracer 12-08-2008, 11:09 PM I know Aurora made a controller with a brake but I don't know how it worked. I also wasn't sure how the speedshifter/blazin brake controller would be wired since it's wired abit different. Let me correct myself I believe it's a blazin brake controller which as you know made the cars stop when you hit the button. GoodwrenchIntim 12-08-2008, 11:55 PM It didnt stop the cars, It reversed the power to make the brake light come on, It had a slipper gear of some sort so when the motor spun the opposite way it wouldnt turn the wheels 2.8powerranger 12-09-2008, 09:40 AM heres a link to a conversion i did,,,very simple to add a brake http://photos.hobbytalk.com/showphoto.php/photo/16466/ppuser/21693/sl/2 its bassically a t jet p/u shoe screwed to the side of the controller that the wiper contacts when the trigger is compleatley released .the brake wire is soldered to it.you have to make sure it touches it only when the wiiper is all the way back so it has lifted off the resistor.it works well but is a full brake.I found a write up about adding a brake to an artin controller.you may do a search on adding a brake to an artin controller and see if you can find the article. sjracer 12-09-2008, 08:12 PM I remmber seeing a conversion picture on a yahoo chat link some time ago but that was with a regular large AFX controller. I don't have any of them and though it might be possible with this one. Dyno Dom 12-09-2008, 10:28 PM Aurora made an AFX 45 ohm Russkit controller w/ brakes. They have 3 alligator clips with black, white & red rubber boots. Part #1454. If interested, I have some new in box. sjracer 12-09-2008, 11:29 PM I really wasn't trying to purchase a new controller just to modify what have, since Parma seems the way to go. Do you have any used Parma economy? Also, if you have a 60 om resisttor for the Parma Turbo I could I'm interested. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
