It always was pretty slow over here, This was not the news I wanted to hear. :drunk:Thank You Fred for keeping us informed. I loved this hobby, and Muscle Machines were the only cars I ever collected besides Hot Wheels, & HO cars back in '68 when I was 9 yrs. old. I don't think anyone will be buying out the MM part of the company. I sure had a good time with these for a long time, and now it looks as if I only need 17 more cars.

Sad news indeed :(
I had a feeling something like this was going to be announced. The signs were showing more & more ever since the initial Wal Mart exclusive went sour.
The only good thing, for me that is, is that there are still 124 MMs from regular releases that I still need to add to my collection. After that I guess I'll attempt to tackle the 1:64 prototypes & possibly the 1:64 Radio-Control cars. So after series 5 is over, it looks like I'll still be busy with my beloved Muscle Machines for awhile.
After that, I will miss Muscle Machines greatly

To quote Mark Twain, "The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated"

Hmmm. I believe that Mark Twain is, in fact, dead.

Well, lets see..........
1) 4M doesn't really care for the Nascar series
2) Nascar series has 'numbers' on them

Looks like the Nascar Muscle line is still alive............

If they do new castings in 2009, I'll just have to take the stupid numbers off of them ... I can do custom Muscle Machines

I'm guessing they won't bother with new castings just for NASCAR, but I'm with you and would do the same thing.

Even though I am not a fan of modern day Nascar, I will continue to add any new "Nascar Muscle" cars to my collection, if they are castings that I collect. Granted, I would much rather see the "Original" line continued, but if it's going to be Nascar only then that will have to do. I would like to see castings used that actually ran on the tracks back in the day such as the '62 Pontiac, '66 Charger, '69 Charger, '69 Daytona, '62 Chevy, '63 Plymouth...etc.

Hey MA, how about a drag racing series or a "Trans-Am" series?? Already have the Cougar, Mustang, Challenger, Cuda, & Camaro castings. :)
