Sunday, December 28th 2008 will the 1st Annual Christmas Cash Race at the Strand. This race will also donate all proceeds to the Obrian Family who lost there home to fire. There may be a chinese auction and other fund raising going on. We want to thank John, the building owner on giving us half price off the rent that day. Thoughts and prayers from The Team and My family (The Kerttulas) go out to the Obrien family. I dont think I can make the race, but wish everyone a good time and raise some money and gifts for a family in need.

Just wanted to say thanks to Frank for his efforts in the fund raiser. I'm sure it means a lot to Mike and his family not just for the money but for the caring. This race isn't about who wins or TQ's because all who show up or contribute are to be applauded. Just load up and show up for the true spirit of Christmas.

Weather doesnt look good here for this up coming race.So i will end up sending something out for the family. As for the O brien family my heart goes out to you. I know first hand how it feels because back in dec of 2001 i lost everything i owned in a house fire. So if the weather gets better here by then i will be there with bells on.

I hope it will be more than bells :eek: But if the weather get's better by prediction it looks like it might be two of us.

Due to the impending weather this sunday, we are thinking about postponing the Cash/Benefit Race. I need a role call of who is planning on coming and which day would be best to change it to. Either of those dates will be better for us we can't make it this week, too much going on and the weather does'nt look good for traveling.

Due to iffy weather, this Sunday's Cash/Benefit Race will be postponed until Sunday, December 28th 2008. The Strand WILL be open for racing Sunday, December 21st. We will be racing on the 21st as a "normal" race day so it gives everyone another practice day before the Cash Race. I hope to see everyone within the next two weeks....

just a heads up....

a couple guys are bringing their legend cars to run at this race running marshall's rules. stock motor, 4 cell spec packs, open tires, etc... fun class for sure.

Legends will be nice to see. Any other classes welcome except LIPO for sunday's race. 47 degrees with rain is the forcast right now so everything should be a go this weekend.
