View Full Version : Lifelike vs Autoworld cars... wannafbody 12-07-2008, 12:47 AM I have some LifeLike cars-how do they compare to Autoworld cars. And what size tires do LL take? dlw 12-08-2008, 03:14 PM Lifelike cars are true magnet cars, so they will hold the track better, allowing more speed through the turns. Good for kids and novice racers. AW/JL cars are remakes of cars made in the 60's & 70's, and though the Xtractions and Ultra-G versions (both XT and TJ) have magnets, racing them is more of a challenge (which is why we like them). The cars perform more like real cars. grungerockjeepe 12-08-2008, 07:45 PM yeah, its 2 totally different classes of car, actually. Unless you mean the AW Super III. wannafbody 12-08-2008, 07:51 PM How does the Super 3 compare to the LifeLikes? martybauer31 12-08-2008, 08:49 PM Steer clear of the Super III's unless you like flushing your money down the toilet.... there is no comparison. The Life-Likes, like dlw said, are great for speed and for getting in lots of laps. They are fun for kids because they will stay on at reduced voltage, but also provide a challenge at higher voltages as well. That being said, the XT's when tuned and tweaked well are a lot of fun and do require more skill. XT's = pancake motor, more driving skill LL = inline motor, higher speed, can be fun for kids as well videojimmy 12-09-2008, 03:02 PM yeah, comparing a life like to an XT is like comparing a t-bone steak to a toll house cookie....but taste great, but both serve a different purpose tjettim 12-09-2008, 03:22 PM If a Tomy Super G was steak,a LifeLike would be a burger patty and the AW cars dog food. slotcarman12078 12-09-2008, 03:53 PM :jest: You know, I thought I smelled something funny on my table.... Alpo?? Mighty dog??? Kibbles and bits??? No wonder!!! UtherJoe TK Solver 12-09-2008, 05:41 PM I have several AW XTraction Ultra G's that can hang with a new stock LifeLife car on my road course. The XTs do have a few modifications -- silicone slip-ons in the rear, o-rings up front, and narrow pick-up shoes. XTractions are more versatile. The Super III cars can be as fast as the new LifeLikes but it takes patience. grungerockjeepe 12-09-2008, 07:30 PM I wouldnt say the SIII's are a waste of money. If you put a little work into them, they do run pretty well. BUT, if you want to slice the pack open and race, the LL is the way to go. I prefer the XTs out of all of these. I like cars that slide in the turns and take skill to race over super suckers anyday. 1976Cordoba 12-09-2008, 09:03 PM Chuck Wagon tjettim 12-10-2008, 10:28 AM The AW XT I bought, out of the box, wouldn't even hardly make it around the track.I tried an S3 setup as a box stock, but the Super Gs ate it up. dlw 12-10-2008, 12:58 PM The XT's have a big handicap coming out of the box. At the factory, they just jam the pickup shoes on (got to work fast, fast, fast!!!). Which bends the shoe the wrong way, severly hindering performance. The first tuneup tip is to straighten the pickup shoes. wannafbody 12-10-2008, 01:35 PM Well, after some testing I've determined that the M series LL hold the track better than my mystery Vipers but the Vipers are a bit faster. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
