A humongous thank you for posting this!!! I had a number of these when I was a kid and loved putting them together on a Saturday morning after my paper route and then playing with them. I had forgotten who made them or what they were called and have been trying to think of it for the last couple years. I will be searching eBay for them!

Thanks, I'll do a search on the forum for them now when I know what to look for! The ones that don't work as slot car bodies would still look good put together and set in the infield as a static model.
