Hey all. New to the sport and to Jackson RC. The guys running this club really have a good operation going. I'm happy to be working with them for the upcoming season and I'm currently modifying the website for them. I hope to have the newly revamped site up and running soon. Same web address, new look and info. Just hang in there.... it'll be well worth the wait. If you have any idea or suggestions for the site, PM me. Looking forward to the 2009 season.

We are in search of some sweet paintjobs on your racecars to be displayed on our newly redesigned website. If you have something you think we can use, PM me. We will look over the submissions, and YOUR car may be chosen!!!

Note: You officially win nothing other than bragging rights.

Noticed that there were no classes for oval. My vote is for 21.5 lipo.

Hey Guys,
we did not post classes or rules for Oval . . .YET . . . our thinking was 13.5 4 cell is going to be a thing of the past in the oval world and wanted to see how the oval guys take to LiPo after the birds. but off the record we are thinking like you . . .;)

I am interested in getting the off-road racing going in Jackson as well. I will do a Slash class or a 2wd truck class...possibly 2wd buggy.

If you are serious about starting up Off-road for Jackson, I suggest starting a separate thread to talk directly on the topic. Posts here seem to just get lost in the shuffle of the On-road chat. If you get something started, post the link here and PM me and I will get it on Jackson's website.

I enjoyed racing oval there a few times last year. Very large and smooth track that reminds me of Indianapolis. You guys are very accommodating to the racer and run a good show. I also like the killer plaques awarded at the big races. See you this summer.

chris / al - so you guys think novak 21.5t + lipo are the way to go? is 17.5t lipo too fast? would there be mah battery restrictions?

I'm not an oval guy -- I haven't owned an oval car since the wide to narrow conversion.

I might pick up a 17.5 motor to play around with. I think Jackson would be pretty awesome at that speed.

I have a 17.5 I can play around with or race if enough people want to, but I do beleive the primary class will be Lipo 21.5.

our thoughts were to open it up to ROAR legal, because that seems to be the direction oval is going. . .

when we have our first "free practice oval day" this is something that can be brought up for discussion and also talk 17.5 or 21.5 and may do a little testing that day to see what everyone thinks, from what we have heard it seems that 21.5 lipo would be similar speeds to 13.5 4 cell

Hello Everyone,
First I would just like to thank everyone that came out, Big Al, Cuffs, Sharpe, Ray Q, Joe S, Rui, Cody,DJ and Boomer for their ideas about oval.
Oval Classes
-21.5 Lipo 3200 max ROAR Legal Battery and ROAR Legal Motor (there is some talk they ROAR may change battery rules, if they do our plan is to change along with them)
-Spec Truck-this is basically the same class they ran at the birds this year:
Spec Truck COT:
Spec Body:
http://www.prolineracing.com/p-513-ort.aspx?/showproduct.aspx?ProductID=513&

Spec 21.5
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWJR1&P=7

Spec Batt:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWJR4&P=7

-Nitro Truck
-VTA OVAL
Road Course
-13.5,
-VTA
-Nitro. Our rational is keeping it simple and to have a better car count in one class, then watering it down over several classes. We plan on setting up the heats so faster guys run with fast guys etc. so do not worry about that. We will also run World GT 13.5 according to the world GT rules and 12th scale 13.5 if there is interest.
Hope to see you in the pits!!!
