exactly.. we don't have to do it just because they did. the reasons they did it have really nothing to do with us. they may change it back. the racing is so boring now because they aren't racing each other that much from what i have seen. they are all trying to get a handle on the car and
who ever seems to be able to hang on the best to a loose car wins.
seriously. its boring to watch. the only ones worth watching is tracks where the body doesn't factor in to much. if you get to see any of it between all the commercials that is.

the COT body has the silly wing we would break off the first race. The front air dam thing wouldnt last either. Forget the change.

Have U Seen The New Cot Body That Nascar Has For The Nationwide Series For 2010? I Like The Rear Section, They Still Have The Spoiler , Not A Wing. I Think That Body Will Work Better Than The One Used In Sprint Now.

In NASCAR, I would rather see the COY car (car of yesterday) than the COT car. Racing was more exciting then. The COT body would break to easy. I say keep what we got.

Well they hand out the wings so its there money they have invested and I heard the cost per wing was a few thousand god knows how many they had manufactured the teams only supplied the end plates so they got away with the change cheap

A diffrent body like the new nationwide cars would be very neat. I mean how long do you really want 2 run the same thing granted there is nothing wrong with it and works but there is nothing wrong with adding something a little diffrent.

In knowing how that body reacts I would really like to see it on the big car. Great steering downforce, rear is good and stable and it rotates real well.

I think the real question is do the guys that make the bodies now want to invest the $$$ in new molds. From what I understand that is where the expense lies.

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but NASCAR is looking into doing away with the wing on the cup car and going back to the spoiler. There is an open test with the spoiler on the COT in March. They also done away with the yellow line at the superspeedways.

I don't know why they don't start the season off with the spoiler instead of waiting a few races because all the teams would have to deal with it and with the testing they have done so far they have got nothing but positive feedback

they didn't do away with the yellow line rule. that still stands. but the wing will be gone eventually. im glad for that.
if they have done testing already . it makes you wonder why wait. but then again not everyone is involved when it comes to testing.
and that is too big a race , speed, track, to suddlely change the rules on some of the smaller entrants. this is one of those races that a few cars/names try to make it in that don't race the rest of the year. maybe that i part of the reason. or give everyone a chance to be ready for the switch, make spoilers, templates , etc. im glad they are getting rid of the wing though. maybe they can get back to racing instead of seeing who can hold onto the looses race car to win. the wing only helps that loose car from getting away from them. im glad to see some relaxing on the bump draft too. what a boring race the last time they made a big deal out of it.

Now if they (nascar) could only get rid of the front splitter!!

Testing with the new spoiler has already been done last week during a tire test. Biffle, Bush, Vickers and one other driver done the test. They all agreed that the spoiler is better than the wing. Nascar is also testing a bigger tire for sprint cup. Several other changes are in the plans to change the cot body. I think they have finally realized they screwed up with this change and are trying to back peddel. Sounds like prez OBA to me.

We could start a new body support thread. Show interest and commit to purchasing a new body. The last thing a mfg needs is to invest without return.

That full size ss aero coupe I got sitting in the shop would be a great model for a mold maker

I did have a chat with dale at protoform a few weeks back he didn't rule it out on making a body but at the time his forming equipment would not accommodate the size

The aero coupe was the best looking cup body period in the modern age
