Hi all, newbie to the site here. Was up in my attic with the kids tonight pulling X Mas decorations and decided to pull out our HO race car set from years past. Not much there but track and a few old controlers and power packs. Lots of track though and in good shape. I remember we had AFX cars and cars called super g. Is it worth looking into getting this stuff back and running again? I live in Union County NJ and would like to go to a hobby shop to see the stuff again. Can anyone help giving me locations of places near me and a good source where I can get stuff. Thanks in advance and I look forward to contributing to the message boards.

Thanks Neo. I did a bunch of research last night and found a guy in Scotch Plains that I used to deal with and he's still there. I can't beleive how alive and well the sport is. I gotta drag some of my buddies I grew up with back into the sport. It will be a great thing for the kids (and the whole family) to keep them busy over the winter. If anyone else can post some helpful info, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.

Get that track down, clean it up and have some great fun. Welcome back! It's not the same hobby as it was back in the day.:thumbsup: rr

Wecome back. Yup the place in Scotch Plains has a lot of slot car stuff. He may be a little pricy on some stuff if memory serves me (we won't count on that). I also believe he hasa track set up in the back.

Thanks Win. I did stop into NJ Nostalgic Hobby today in Scotch Plains to see Joe. I had been there years before when I was playing with the HO cars with my older son. I ended up getting a pair of cars and a tune up kit for the kids to get going with it for tonight. I ended up getting the pair of Nascar StyleI think any store that has all the inventory is a little more expensive than an internet. I'll always shop the local dealer/store if they are fair regardless if he's a few bucks more. Always glad to give them my business and damn glad they are there to help out. We had a ton of fun racing and teaching the kids how to pace yourself. Got a lot of track to lay out. I'll have to post a picture of the layout. Thanks again for your help and post any info you think might be helpful.
