Finally, I had a jump start to my collecting habits. Things were getting pretty slow there for a while. The Shelby Collectibles are good ones to track down.

Not pictured are both SEMA cars, the white-interior silver and yellow Eleanor's, and the non-chase version of the Australian Diecast Convention car. To my knowledge, that's it.

What is the Australian Diecast Convention car? And what is the difference between the chase and non-chase?

Not that I know of. The regular is a run of 3000, so I would think eventually they'll be available somewhere.

Sorry, but I am a bit confused about these RH cars. Will all of these 1:64 cars be available at retail under the Shelby Collectibles line, or are they RH-only exclusive cars?? They are really, really nice cars but it doesn't make much sense to pay $10.00 if they will show up on store shelves for about half that price. If, in fact, they are RH exclusives I will certainly be adding these great cars to my collection.

The only RH that is specifically stated to be an exclusive to RH is the Black Hornet. The only one of the RH that is available at normal retail is the Supersnake; the standard retail version is lighter, however the detail is the same.

Nice collection of Shelby's. I think that the super snake retail version can go both ways on the lighter and darker vari's. I have only seen one lighter blue super snake and the rest have been the darker blue ones as seen here. also the lighter one has black interior compared to white on the darker.

I know you mentioned the SEMA cars here is a pic of the Cobra.

Sorry, I should have clarified, I was referring to the weight not the color. That signed SEMA piece is beautiful!
I think the white interior may be a chase piece, but don't quote me on that. Here is a pic of the RH and the mainline next to each other

I think you are correct about the white interior being chase car. That is the only one I've seen so far.... unlike that last round of white interior GT350 cars, which all seemed to have white interiors.

I received my Restoration Hardware 1968 Black Hornet today. Did anyone else get theirs? If you did, do me a favor and take a close look at your headlights. Let me know if you are missing the chrome around the headlights.

PMS.... very interesting. The headlight openings look much smaller than the original 1968 GT500 casting. Its a shame, because that is a nice little detail. It stuck out to me like a sore thumb as soon as I looked at it. Looking at your photos it looks like the paint detail for the indicators under the front bumper is missing as well.

Here are photos of the Black Hornet from the RH website... It certainly looks like the chrome is around the headlights in those photos:

Call me picky, but a $10 1:64 diecast shouldn't be missing these little details.

I also wondered about this dilemma of what might be exclusive to RH. It appears that the 2 black cars ( GT500 KR Convt and " Black Dragon" ) are not and possibly will not be available to collectors other than thru RH . This is only my suspicion - but it remains strong until i am proved incorrect (?)

Definately not picky! Well warranted concerns in my opinion as well. You might try calling/emailing them, although I doubt they won't have much by way of helpful info. Still waiting on mine, so I've yet to pass judgement.

Well, at least now I know I don't have to contact RH and let them know I received a defective piece. Its a shame though, it looks much better with the chrome around the headlights.

From PMS485's excellent photos, it does appear to be a completely different casting than the '68 GT500 fastback. It is probably the same one they are using for the convertible. At first, I thought the top of the Black Hornet may have been plastic, but upon closer inspection, it seems to be metal. I am also thinking that the photos used on the website may have been prototypes since the headlights and the fog lights are different than the pieces we received. At least the black hornets we received have the correct color fogs.

I finally obtained the chase version of the blue Super Snake a few days ago. After being shipped from England, the blister separated from the card. Well, that answered my question whether or not to open it! As soon as a few others arrive, I'll update the photo again.

A lot of my blistercards have separated, in fact. I wish they would have heat-sealed them better.

feel the same about the blister cards as well..had the pink chrome '68 Shelby GT500 separate in shipment..car went loose in the box and although it was in good shape...the right tailight was lost...!...nice photos...look forward to your update...have you seen the orange 2008 GT500 Super Snake coupe?...new color out I guess..
