this sunday there will be at least 5 or 6 guys goint to barre from ny to get the bugs worked out before the double header next weekend, I also think phil and walsh should be going and all the regulars, so if anyone is interested in a good tune up day, make the trip this sunday.

Yes, we will open at 8 AM and start racing at 12 noon. It's going to be a big day and we're figuring 2 to 2-1/2 hours per set of heats.

paul, just a suggestion, since you don't use the ifmar style starts, it would be most fair for all the racers if you would invert the line up up from the first round to second, and then still do your shuffle for the third round, almost every other track that does heads up starts for quallifing uses this procedure and it seems to work the best. just my 2 cents, see everyone there on sat. and sunday.

PFixx
12-18-2008, 10:06 PM
We were just talking about how to handle that tonight. My question was whether to invert or randomize the second round. Inverting does seem the fairest so that's probably what we'll do.

We will not be seeding the heats. We'll let the computer do it randomly.

Weather looks good for Saturday in VT. They're just forecasting light snow Friday into the evening, then partly cloudy Saturday. If you're coming form the south driving shoudl get better as you get farther north.

Hi Paul, just out of curiousity why not simply do it Ifmar starts, like most other tracks do?

Steve.

Steve, Paul says his lap counting software does not support IFMAR. Would be nice though!

PFixx
12-19-2008, 08:16 PM
to add to Jeff's response, there are 2 reasons: #1 our racers want to race against each other, not against a clock, #2 our Autoscore software won't do IFMAR starts. As soon as 100 people show up for 1 race I'll buy JLAP.

PANCAR17R

Great answer Paul!, I have to say, I do like racing. Not just trying to break the record. For the few that are a lap up on the competition its not really fair to go by your qualifying, but when you earn your spot I like it. I've started fifth and qualified second for the A. The key is to have your car good, not on the edge of wrecking.

Do think if youve won more than two weeks straight, you need to start last every round, no matter what. Not to mention any names but Pace, I mean woops, some people are just too fast!! LoL haha!!

PFixx
12-19-2008, 09:35 PM
and we'll be using it for the races this weekend.

i want to thanks all the racers who make the Vermont state challenge!! i think it was a good week-end of racing....it was tight up to the end!!

here is the result for the top 3:

1st place 196pts: Pace Gendron
2nd place 195pts: Tom Hargrave
3rd place 195 pts: Wade Bisonnette

if you look the 2nd place and 3rd place have the same points...so it was a tie....we have use a tie breaker and at the end Tom was in front of Wade!!

thanks again guy....i hope we will do it again next years!!

and thanks to Paul and Diane of RCtoybox for the gift certificated for the top 3 spot!!

a couple of us are coming over this saturday feb. 7th, are you guys running any one cell lipo stuff yet, we plan on running the 4 cell 10.5 class, just curious if we should bring the lipo stuff to run a second class.

thanks

02-06-2009, 05:04 PM
We're not running one cell LiPo yet, but are beginning discussions about that possibility for our next season.

We're running 4-call 10.5 though and look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Yes, we'll run 1 cell LiPo for the trophy race on Feb 21st. Same rules as Plattsburg & Maximus. Someone just needs to bring or send us a copy of the rules since I can't find the posted anywhere online.

Thanks,
Paul

The rules are: Novak 13.5 brushless motor, SMC 4000 mah 25c 1cell lipo battery, 36oz min weight with transponder. Everything else is the same as normal pan car. See you next Saturday

the only other thing to add to the rule that bob posted would be a max voltage of 4.22 with track volt meter and a max of 75 degree battery temp.

this will get you more racers if these rules are inforced.

Butters16
02-08-2009, 04:07 PM
Max battery temp varies a little with room temp, checking last nite the temps range from 68-74 degrees. room temp was around 65. it easier to go with 10 degrees above room temp for a guide line.

PFixx
02-08-2009, 07:31 PM
Yes, we'll measure LiPo voltage and temp. If someone can provide a copy of the rules it will be a whole lot easier to standardize than based on email messages.

Thanks,
Paul
