Well, I finally did it. I went out yesterday and bought a DREMEL like tool. I told my wife I wanted one for Christmas, but saw one on sale, oh, the day before, and figured, what the heck. I can't believe how useful this thing is. No more cutting out wheel wells one sliver at a time!

If I may make a few suggestions... Invest in the flexible extension. Very handy to have around. Also, get yourself the collet assortment. These will allow you to use all the handy bits that dremel and others sell. Then get yerself a drill index, dremel brand or other. I use these things all the time. Question for you.. Did you get the cordless or the 120 volt?? I got tired of frying batteries.. Welcome to the club.

Welcome to the club NTxS. Keep us posted as you grind your way through the various media that make up slot car bodies. Don't forget the pix. You're gonna burn a couple here and there, we all have. rr

Anyone have dogs, a dremel kit makes a great nail clipper. Put on one of the sanding drums and have at your doggie's nails. No blood, no issues. A dremel could be the most useful tool in your house!

Oh...kay. The topic heading had me thinking you were the proud new owner of an RX-8.
Dremels are cool too. And cheaper. And easier to use for trimming your dog's nails.
just be careful with it.. buy the fiberglass reinforced cutoff wheels. dont' use the little ones in the tube.. they break easily.. Wear your safety glasses.. and pay attention to what you are doing, or you will be sending the body off To Bill Hall to fix your OOOPS!!
Don't ask bill.. thanks to Zilla I can fix my screw up..
