View Full Version : tc4 touring oval chassis design fordfreak 11-26-2008, 10:35 PM hey guys, thought i would provoke the brain cells and opinions. i just made my own chassis out of 1/4" plexiglass for my tc4 to run oval late model with. let me know what ya'll think. Loopedout 11-27-2008, 11:08 AM looks cool but functionally I dont believe it will benefit you in any way. Maybe if you run on asphalt the added flex will help traction but on any other track you will need a chassis made out of something stiffer and plexiglass is heavy compared to inj molded composites and carbon fiber. fordfreak 12-01-2008, 11:03 PM you are correct about the flex, thats why i added a top deck to stiffen the chassis. we race inside on smooth finished/slick concrete that has been painted. it works really well and is only about three ounces heavier than a rtr tc4. for what it's worth tho, i can make three chassis' out of an 18"x24" sheet for $14 bucks and still have fun racing in the top three at our club race every week. thats compared to $125 carbon fiber conversion kits, which i would like to have but,$$$$$ doesn't allow right now. thanx for the input and get creative:) , keith vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
