They told that story in 5 minutes in the first movie. Now they're stretching it into a movie. Selene is the core of the concept. It's like Seinfeld without Jerry.

Though I've never been totally bonkers about the Underworld films, they have at least been entertaining, fairly competent and stylish. And maybe sometimes that's good enough to enjoy. I think we largely get in to too much of either 'It's the greatest thing since sliced bread' or 'God, that was the worst movie in the history of recorded media!' Looks interesting.

I will see it. I really Liked the first two. I think Selene will have her origins in the next film.

I agree, a lot of the appeal of the first two was Kate Beckingsale in that leather get up:

Kate was the only reason to watch those films.

I watch Sarah Connor Chronicles even though Arnold and Linda Hamilton aren't in it.

I enjoyed both of the first two movies, tho the first more than the second. I think that the character of Selene was an essential element of both, but am more than willing to see this third movie. I just won't have terribly high expectations.

This the the "Let's milk the franchise" movie for Underworld. I'll see it even if Selene isn't in it. I enjoyed the first two. We'll see how this one fares. I would have thought at the least they could have Selene in it at the point where Victor makes her a vampire.
