Do you weld/solder/epoxy your diecast customs back together after chopping and channeling etc ?
What tools is needed to get started in customizing die casts ?
Looks interesting to me.

Most of us use J-B weld to put everything back together.

ClearHooter made a good list a while back.
*1. Dremel varible speed with a lot of cutting wheels. Work these down to various sizes. Barrel cutter, cone type cutter, drill bits from as small as you can get to 1/4,
1a. Polishing attachments for Dremel along with jeweler's rouge.
*2. Jeweler's file set.
3. Jewelers saw with a bunch of blades.
*4. Sand paper from around 250 up to 1000 as well as som Scotch Brite
*5. Xacto knives
*6. J&B KWIK
7. Magnifier. I really like the ones you wear on your head.
*8. Plyer set. Various needle nose and cutters.
9. Several size of hole punches
10. Copper foil, 3M Adheasive Foil, blue painters tape.
*11. Air Compressor and air brush
12. Digital camera. I've started using this more than a magnifier to find work flaws.
***13. Kleen Strip Aircraft Remover. (Glad to see the controversy over this product is about settled.)
*14. Paint. Rattle cans, nail polish, bottle with the thinner / cleaner for each anlong with clear coat.
15. Vac.U.Form. Not necessary but I really like mine. Check out "TheBay"
Don't let this list scare you. Everything isn't necessary to make a very nice custom only the ones marked (*). However the other things sure make life and the hobby easier.

Wow! that worked. I'm getting a "little" better on the computer.
A good imagination is all you really need.
A pair of small needle nose with a real small rubber band to hold the handles shut is just as good as a pair of hemostats for small parts. A tooth pick can make a great paint brush... etc.
