Here's my Fat Fender 40 entry for BangerDome.
My favorite casting of all.

All the harsh flaws and flash are removed from the fenders , roof and rear.
Window openings are filed smooth and then sanded.
Wheel wells are filed smooth and sanded.
The tab on the rear is filed thin for easy slip on reassembly.
Headlights are drilled out and replaced with Rhinestones.
Red Rhinestone taillights.
The bumpers on the Fat Fender come with heavy scars so they are filed smooth, sanded with 150 and then 220, hit with #3 Steel Wool and finally bumpers and grille are polished and buffed with compound and a Dremel.

Normally I remove the support braces from the front bumper but since this is BangerDome I left them on to protect the paint.
Polishing the bumpers to a high lustre really brings this casting around.
Zamac will always dull no matter how well polished but these bumpers can later be brightened right up with a small cotton ball of Never Dull.

Johnny Lightning Speed Rebel wheels.
The casting was one of the blue Circus On Wheels cars and I chose the red windshield from the Silver Fat Fenders to accent the Purple paint.

The whole casting is sanded with 150, then 220 and then hit hard with #3 Steel Wool to smooth any sandpaper scratches but still leave a proper surface for good adhesion.
Not polished, just a spun metal look with very fine scratches.

Primered, Shimrin White base followed by 2 coats of SnowWhite Pearl.
Intercoat cleared, taped and shot with Candy Purple Intensifier.
1/64 Gold foil pinstripe tape.
Decals applied and Rhinestones installed.
Cleared with a heavy dose of Brilliant Gold Pearl-Ex Powder.

Decals created especially to fit this Fat Fender.

Thanks Guys,
Hey, whatever happens, happens.
It was built to Bang.

I'm detailing another Fat Fender right now with 4 others in the Oven.
It's going to be interesting to see how this one weathers the Banging.
I just hope the wheels stay on it.

Bang a Gong, Get It On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
