I tried making Mooneys with a punch, paper thin styrene sheets and chrome paint over the stock HW wheels. I'm not 100% happy with the result, what do you guys think?

try a metal thumb tack. lock it in a dremal or drill on low speed. use fine sandpaper and start from center out keeping your sanding lines smooth then scotch brite. do not remove to much metal or the head will show. then cut tack off.

paper punch.. stainless sheet.. (thin) or aluminum, polish it if you like or you can give it the spun look by using a scotchbrite pad.

Those wheels remind me of "Skeeters" made by Ideal in the early 70s. Cool!

Anyways, I like the thumbtack idea if you can find one small enough, but have never tried it myself.

while on the dremal or drill you can sand or file the size down.

remember to use safety glasses while doing this. and keep hands protected.
