Since AW paint is so hard to strip, has anyone tried to strip the chrome AW cars?
If it is chrome over plastic, it should all fall off in a bleach soak, right?
Would seem an easier proposition . . .

'Doba, it strips off beautifully. Dunno about bleach. But what I use is Mean Green super strength cleaner. You can get it at Target or Kmart, its powerful stuff. Doesnt hurt the plastic a bit. Oh yeah and its good for actually cleaning your house too. Ive stripped numerous AW and tyco cars with this stuff and it works great. Now sometimes you'll get a part that wont strip entirely clean on the first 24 hour soak. If you have painted stripes or something over the chrome (tycos are notorious for this) then get a cheap paintbrush or toothbrush and give it a good all over working. Then let it soak for a few more days. Keep doing this until its clean.

Doba,
I have stripped a RED chromed AW 55 with ELO very easily. This is how I got my molded in white AW 55...Yeah the chrome comes off nice with no stains.
Now if AW would just make a chrome version of the 57 Nomad. Although I have taken a Tomy 57 White Nomad and stripped the Neon Blue and Orange tampo off to get mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bob...take it off...zillla
