Just bought myself an Ofna handturn tire truer. I'd like to put a carbide bit on it for better cuts, and I think I have two options. MurdockRC/WindTunnel has the universal carbide cutter, and then there is the Hudy carbide cutter.

Does anybody have hands-on experience in knowing if the Hudy cutter fits the Ofna? Does it require modification to fit, or does it mount right in? Is it the same size so the depth of cut gauge is the same, or will I have to have a cheatsheet that says marked depth is really a different depth?

Thanks for your help!

I have a ofna truer and I bought the Murdock carbide bit and have had it for 4 years, no problems at all.

I can cut new tires to 2.2 in one pass, and the cutter leaves the tires with the same finish as new.

stryker - Is the blade the same cutting depth as the original blade, or did you have to go with different numbers on the dial?

I'd still like to hear about the Hudy blade on this truer. I can get a Hudy cutter for less than the Murdock blade.
