I'm gonna have to get a couple of those. Wonder how a R/W/B paint job with numbers on the doors and roof would look. Could add it to the stable of AMC stock cars. ;) rr

Great car Jerry! Where do you get those bodies? Will it go on a Tyco? My aunt had a purple one with white stripes & interior. I think she said it had a 426 Hemi, not sure.

Super job on the Gremlin. Looks fabulous. My Mom bought one of the base models of those the first year they came out. It had whatever the most pathetic engine AMC had at the time, which I think was the 232 I6 one barrel, loaded down with all the power sucking smog crap, and a slush box to boot. No power steering. It was a horrible little car that could barely make it up the hill we lived on. Sent it back after a few weeks and got a Nova with a smallblock V8, which worked out much better. However, I knew someone that had a Gremlin with the 401 V8 and it was nearly a factory built race car right off the showroom floor. The Gremlin definitely deserves a place in American automotive folklore and history and I'm glad to see it done up as a slot car.

Man, nice job and what a neat slot car. I wonder how many AMC cars are left hanging around? I'll see the occaisonal Javelin and AMX, not much of anything else. AFX, your Mom's car tale sounds like the same story that ruined a lot of cars - a good car is designed, and the equipped version is pretty good. The stripped down base entry level version was so bad that it hurt the image of the whole line. I remember Gremlins came in an intense Bic pen blue, and the V8's would scoot!

I've had 3! last one was a 304 and would flat fly.the first had a 232 and a 3spd stick an would burn the back tires as long as you held the pedal down.the 2nd one was an orange 72 x with the black stripe ,,i have an ho version that i wish i could get a nice stripe tampo'd on it .i'll see if i can post a pic of it.Alphaslot1 did it in orange resin for me..he did a beutiful job on the body .

Great Job ! I remember the AMC Gremlin's very well since they came out in 1970 at the base price of $1899 ! :thumbsup:I am "sooooooo" nostalgic for the cars of the 70's especially after watching ABC's "Life on Mars" where a cop from 2008 goes back to 1973. I drove the following; '71 Valiant, '70 VW 'ghia, '73 Datsun 1200 ( The Gremlin was actually a better car than this POS !) and a ' 73 AMC Ambassador.
