Any hints on the best way to glue up the clear bottles for the great new Moebius kit? I fixed two halves with Revell Contacta Professional and all looked fine but the next day the plastic was cloudy.
Thanks

Thanks MonsterModelMan 11-17-2008, 04:48 PM I think that Testors sells clear plastic cement that is used on canopies and such! Dries clear... MMM beck 11-17-2008, 06:32 PM hey , welcome to the BB's Ligustri . Triple M's right Testors does make a glue for clear parts . definately , you'll want to stay away from any "super" glue products as they do tend to leave a fog on the parts . hb djnick66 11-17-2008, 06:41 PM Super glue does fog clear parts but you can 1) dip them in Future first and it won't fog them or 2) dip them in future afterwards to make them clearer and to remove fog. I would glue them with Gators Grip Glue, which is excellent and strong for clear parts. Ductapeforever 11-17-2008, 10:29 PM Watch Crystal Cement, I swear by it. Can be found online, just "Google" it. Ductapeforever 11-17-2008, 11:47 PM The only way I see to completely rid this model of any seems on the clear parts is to use the original assembled pieces to make RTV molds from them and to cast NEW ONES from clear resin. I'm sorry to say I can imagine no other alternative. If anyone has any thoughts I am open for your ideas. veedubb67 11-18-2008, 10:46 AM Or there's the easy way out - miniature glass lab equipment. http://www.spminiatures.com/chemistry.htm Rob Iwata Padawan djnick66 11-18-2008, 11:08 AM Or there's the easy way out - miniature glass lab equipment. http://www.spminiatures.com/chemistry.htm Rob Iwata Padawan Oh man that stuff is cool. And most of it (the glassware) isnt particularly expensive. You pay more per piece for little metal fantasy figures these days. Ligustri 11-18-2008, 12:55 PM Thanks for the suggestions, I tried cyanoacrylate glue yesterday and the result was very good with no fogging and the seams are only just visible on close inspection. A coat of clear green and it looks great. ps I am not really new to the forum - just been lurking in the shadows............... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
