Bare with me here as I'm not too up on "Monster" kits. This new Monster Scene Frankenstein kit, the one with Franky coming through the door with a chick in his arms. Not to ask a dumb question, but what comes with this kit? Does the door or the girl (didn't know hot pants and halter tops were popular back in Franky's day!), or both, come with the kit like on the box art or is it just the big guy? I've never seen this kit reviewed nor assembeled to know.

I'm just now beginnig to get an interest in "Monster" kits (Thanks Moebius) and would love to see some pics posted if anyone has yet built one of these.

Thanks for any help!

Hal9001---Can't tell you what comes with the kit as that I never had one when they came out. Seems that about the time they first came out I was interested more in "real" girls that actually wore hot pants. I'm guessing that they had hot pants on her (girl in Frankie's arms) to reflect the fashions of the times. (late 60's to early 70's)

The kit comes with two sets of arms, two sets of legs and a very small oval base

This was a problem with the kits when they first came out. You weren't sure what you were actually getting in the kits. You get one Frankenstein figure, two sets of arms, two sets of legs and a small base. If you want the girl figure, you have to buy the "Victim" kit. The boxes themselves now say in very small black lettering you get one figure, etc. But if you are just looking at photos online its hard to tell from the box art.

The Victim's outfit is a bit odd. It is closer to something from the 70s when the kits were first done, than the 18th or 19th century. You could probably paint her up as a gypsy girl. I didn't like the blue/red/brunette color scheme as I thought it made her look like a Lil Abner character. I painted my Victim in more modern colors, a light blue top and khaki shorts and with blonde hair.

Nah.. many of us old coots still LOVE them!

I'd LOVE Frazetta styled set of Abner, Daisy Mae ma, and Schmoo, but I have a feeling kits based off them would probably tank big time.

Check some recent threads, I know Wolfman Dan has posted some pics of his MS build ups. Add me the list of those old enough to remember Lil' Abner.

Thanks to everyone that responded. The only "Monster" kit I ever remember haveing as a kid was the "Witch", and how I loved that kit. I'm sure I had the other "Monster" kits from the 60's, they just didn't make the impact the "Witch" did. Who knows, maybe I thought she was hot? (no sick jokes!)

Anyway PM Moderator apparently you're not the only oldie amongst us.

Thanks again,

There were two images on the original 1971 Frankenstein Box. One was this one you are writing about with the Victim in his arms, the other was a more traditional pose with the Monster alone.

I am not sure if Moebius and Dencomm are releasing the box with both images or just one.

Just one image, Pit Mike. Again, picking up circa 1972 and the change that was made where the kits only featured a single character painting (see Drac, Jekyll/Hyde, Insect), it was decided to do the same here. Since the image of Frank alone (and the Victim alone and Deadly minus the sabre-tooth rabbit) were seen by most, it made sense to feature the image most folks hadn't seen and also promote the crossover of how the kits - and characters - work together to formulate a 'scene.'

No, no plans for alternate box designs.

I'm not in to Monster kits, but I too remember Lil' Abner. I've even got a copy of the '59 movie with Leslie Parrish :woohoo: as Daisey May, Julie Newmar (Before Catwoman) as Stupefyin' Jones and Stella Stevens :woohoo: :woohoo: as Appassionata Von Climax... oh ... and Peter Palmer as Lil' Abner.
