DK = Tekno
S = Tomte Laerdal

Tomte were made in N for Norway. Galanite were made in S for Sweden - not easy to tell Tomte from Galanite without looking at the base unless you are familiar with the individual cars in each range.Galanite used noticeably thinner more rust prone axles than Tomte,so that is the giveaway here for me.....
Both metal Amazons are Teknos made in Denmark

Yep - GALANITE - you are good! :thumbsup:

So which ones are 4-door, which ones are 2-door? :)

I'd say the yellow one is the coupe and the red/white one is the sedan; they are completely different castings.

But why does the yellow one have the wheels (hubcaps really) from the Tekno Mustang casting? Is that correct or was it a Monday in Copenhagen after too many Carlsbergs over the weekend?

This ´Mustang´ wheel hub was used on many Tekno/Kirks in the final few years of Danish production unless there was a specially designed hub for the casting like all Mercedes ,Jaguar XKE and the Monza.This ´Mustang´ design replaced the previous white with chrome hubcap design as standard,and can be seen on Saab 99,Volvo 144 and final issues of many other cars like VW1500 squareback and Volvo Amazon .I cannot remember ever seeing a 2 door police Amazon without these Mustang type hubs,and i have seen 20-30 over the years.

Right, the yellow one has a pointed noise, bigger front door and window, and different rear design. The Galanite is a copy of the red one - check out the front door window size and shape... :thumbsup:

Here is my small collection of Amazons including the htf station wagon.These are all beaters except for my childhood resprayed Politi 2 door which doesnt have the best quality.The swedish police beater 4 door has lost half of its paint, the windows ,both A pillars and the jewelled headlamps but for the pennies it cost I am pleased to have this one.......All fine examples of 1960s toymaking that were really enjoyed by the kids that owned them.
Has Karl noticed that the wheels on his yellow 2 door can be fixed up by pushing the wheel up against the baseplate....giving the cars a fine posable lean like a real cop car cornering in pursuit.These cars in 1:1 were used in some locally famous cheesy Danish cinema comedies from the late 1960s and early 1970s

Finally got some snapshots of the estate (wagon), brought out in 1964 by Tekno Denmark. This is #830 in a series of Volvos they produced in the 1950-60s. Tekno reportedly took a year to develop the molds because of the thin pillars and to get the roof strong enough (note the opening split rear gates). Discontinued in 1968. Maybe that is why it is a hard one to find...

I just looked! Mine has suspension but it does not lock-up or anything, just springy. (The red one is the older version with no suspension/no interior.)

I just read an interesting article about the former US General, Colin Powell. He collects and restores these older Volvo's in 1:1 Scale as his hobby.

Man, those "Volvo 121" decals on the front fenders are H-U-G-E!!! :)
Still a cool casting for the time period though.
