This is a Kohler 15.5 Engine
engine runs some time and some time not the engine pops & back firers , I took head off cleaned all carbon, checked valve clearence ( in specks)I'm at the end of my wits with this problem. Carb was taken apart last year and was clean, float was at correct height and idel & mixture settings are per the book.
flywheel key is ok put new ignition module. a no go????

Does your engine have a SAM (spark advance module)?

I dont think he knows? Just out of curiosity, doesn't the SAM start on the 16? Not to familiar with those, obviously. The only thing I could think of was the CV series? Is this right or is it something different?

Im not sure if the SAM is only on the 16 and up, all i know is my CV160S had the same issues when the hot wire on the sam was loose.
