Chad Valley were approached by The Rootes Company in the early 1950's to produce for them promotional models for sale at their showrooms. One of these models was this Hillman Minx:

Each of these Chad Valley models had a clock work motor. A motor was a popular inclusion in most of the minor players during the 1950's to provide a marketing edge over Dinky Toys.
The model pictured was a beater and has been restored by a friend of mine Alan Boughton. I bought the model at a model train collectors fair a few years ago for £10.
