Hello,
I own a 2001: A Space Odyssey HAL-9000 Interface kit put out by Wilco Models and noticed in an article from 2005 that a lighting kit was in the works. I’ve never seen one come up since and was wondering if there were still any plans for one. I’d like to put one together myself and know how to wire up an LED but only one that uses 3 AAA batteries. I’ve seen HAL model kits in the past that use the AAA batteries and as a result the depth of the model is about an inch. Problem is the original HAL in the movie does not protrude from the panels by an inch and the Wilco kit looks more authentic. Anyone have any idea how I can hook up an LED with a low-profile power source?
