OK, I know what it is, the question is who made it????

My 1/43 sports car collection is growing every week. But I have to admit that the driving force of that growth is financial driven (all pun's intended )

So that brings us to this sweet little casting of a Ferrari 512s Coda Lunga (long tail). I paid a whopping $5 bucks plus shipping for this bad boy from a seller in China. But for the price, it arrived with no box, so I have no idea who made this car. The seller never responded to my inquiry as well.

The car simply say"1:43 , Made in China" on he bottom. Though this is no high dollar model, it is still a very crisp presentation, well worth my money.

But I STILL do not know who made this car. Any help with info would be greatly appreciated. The car is a Group 4 Ferrari 512s Long Tail (chassie # 1030). This version was driven from 25th on the grid to a 5th place finish at the 1970 Le Mans 24 by Blaton, Walker and Frelant for the Belgian team Ecuric Francorchamps. ( I love the internet!:p)

BUT I STILL DON"T KNOW WHO MADE IT!!!

I don't know who made it, but whenever you are asking a "Who made it?" question the most most important picture you can post is of the bottom of the car. Lots of companies share body molds but will often change configurations and markings on the bottom by agreement and for their own purposes.

Ward - the Ferrari was made for a magazine partwork, on sale, in Europe. It was probably made by either Fabbri or Ixo / Altaya. I can't find it on Altaya's site, so I would suspect Fabbri.

You might have a look as www.gamas43.com - click on the Kiosk button & loads of partworks appear - an invaluable source as to what is available.

Ward, can't help out with who made it. Might not be an all out opening everything model. But it sure does look nice and at 5 bucks I think it looks outstanding.

Guys, you are the best! Thanks for the info Jinx, I can move forward now! One of the aspects of 1:43 is the wonderful history of the castings. I am working on a written history for everypeice I own and under the diecast section, I was missing the maker of this peice.
