I got this NOS Aurora Vibrator Jag XK140 body recently off the Bay. I thought about mounting it to a vibe motor, but then thought better of it. So, I mounted it to a 'Wild Ones' chassis with Thunderbrushes, silver shoes and an 8.9 Ohm arm. I reduced the diameter of the tires and mounted a Neodymium magnet to the underside. I have yet to run it on anything other than a small 10' test oval, so I'm wondering how it'll be on the set-up being built in the basement. I think it'll be a screamer!

When supplied as a t jet those Jags came with a spacer to raise the front a bit - looks like the stance is lower in front, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The old "glass" and that chap's head break off pretty regularly - with that magnet, I hope you avoid high speed wall shots! Not much sense in putting repro plastic on a NOS piece. I already have a vibe jag with repro glass (one of my own from way back) and several with no glass and cut fenders - it's a shame to tear up an original when there are so many that have already been smacked around.

I was wundering when this topic would come up LOL. Nice save Pat! I always loved the modified/sleeper vibes and your new red one looks very sharp. Before Coach and I invented dirt this was how we ran 'em!

Roughed up vibe shells were plentiful, light, and once ya busted all the doodads of them... they were very durable. :p

I built this old XK two or three years ago in rememberence of an old racer I had back in the day. Basically a tuffone's setup, only short geared, and vintage AJ's wheels. The factory put the spacer in the front to run the pancake chassis....we always put them in the back for wheel crammage.

This old girl had her rear wheel wells tickled so she was not restored original. Before the days of girlietraction, pit kit "refugee racers" ruled the short road courses in our little town. They handled rather well as is... she still needs a weight pan to be period proper. I'm still waiting for one to trickle through in a junk lot.

This one skitters around the track like an startled cockroach!

Definitely a fine looking Jag. Not sure I'd run it too fast or much. :)

All of my cars are runners, NOS or not. I do have a pretty failsafe way to keep them from getting too bashed up though...I don't crash...LOL! No really...I make corner netting out of fiberglass window screen...once installed they look just like the fencing around a real track. I'll post some photos and how I make them once I'm completed.
