We got all of our details worked out - and it's "OFFICIAL"

TEAM ORION is NOW the LIPO BATTERY of the South-West Tour Series, and will remain so for the 2009, 2010, 2011 seasons.

We have committed to each other for 3 years with an exclusive contract - TEAM ORION will be the SPEC Battery for our series.

The General Classes for '09 will be as stated above, the 3400 pack. If there is interest in a FAST CLASS with a Higher Power pack, we'd consider the 5000 mAh pack but at this time I don't see that happening...

THANK YOU to:

Sounds like a plan swtour, I wish the whole Hobby/Sport could agree on a battery/motor combo something like that and stick with it for a while, instead of changing every other month.

One of the reasons we chose to stay with the TEAM ORION packs, even though the packaging changed from 3200 to 3400 was the understanding there was very little if any real performance change to these packs...so it won't obsolete the original perfectly good 3200's.

Here is some discharge data on the two:

The NEW 3400's initial test show the performance should be as I had been told it should be..."VIRTUALLY identical to the original 3200"

Here's a comparitive test result from a NEW 3400 and a new 3200

Cycled at 7 amp charge and 35 amp discharge to 6 volts on C.E. GFX

Packs were not heated, temp 78 degrees

New 3400
Run time 324
AIR 11.3
Discharge Average 7.05
MAHR 3150
MWHR 22226

New 3200
Run time 321
AIR 12.0
Discharge Average 7.02
MAHR 3062
MWAH 21682

I've had a couple phone calls today telling me that HotRodHobbies is going to the 3400 ORION Lipo for their local oval racing series events in '09.

Hopefully this will be good for the local racing at the Saugus track, and will be accepted by those racers who only run the local events.

I've already heard some are very happy to be able to use the same products in OUR series events, and their local racing.
