View Full Version : Associated FT B4 News Flash
TroyGut 11-03-2008, 04:22 PM I was looking to buy a new Factory Team B4 today, and believe it or not, it is only available in a rtr form now. The FTB4 is on the discontinued list of information. I can not believe that Associated would discontinue one before a new one arrives. This could really be a shock to off road electric racing if they do this. Some of us still like running electric offroad. They still have hop up parts, but no FT Kit listed.
Maybe it was a mistake, if it was, maybe they could send me one for free for pointing it out to them it is not on their website.

BrentV 11-03-2008, 09:36 PM It's a dying breed. And with Losi pretty much dropping out AE probably figures there's no point in pushing the 2wd any longer. CORR style is where it's at right now. I hope AE pulls the SC8 off, that will be a riot.

Hope that is just an error, like the B44 being in the NITRO column?!

CORR style isn't where it is at right now, as the slash in the only one being raced right now.
Also I don't think they would up and stop making the B4, as that class is doing good yet. Also there has been a few other companies that have come out with 2wd buggies like Kyosho, and MRC, and then there are a few more that should come out with one later.
As for Losi, they went down hill on their race program once horizon hobbies took over.

You are correct in statement that the Slash is the only one in the class for electric, I was also trying to state that the CORR type direction is what is getting quite a bit of attention because it can be related to what people outside the hobby can identify with. I for one am a diehard 1:8 buggy racer, and I am looking into the SC8 as an addition to my race gear. I bought a Slash for my son, to which really has alot going for it considering it's cheap and durable. Can'y really say that about the 1:10 scale buggies.

1/10 buggy is fairly cheap when you are talking about hardcore race cars. It might not be as durable as a "slash" but usually you don't race in the 1/10th buggy class until you have developed some skills as it is one of the hardest classes to drive consistently on dirt.

By the way , ALOT of rtr cars would be cheap and durable if they were left in box stock trim.

if it is to easy, everyone would want to race one... but there are alot of guys looking for a challenge, that is why i got out of electric all together, plus with everything going lipo and brushless, it took the challenge away..... my 2 cents
