NEWS FROM MOTORAMA EVENTS INDOOR RACES & SHOWS
09/17/08 - With local racing rapidly winding down, it’s soon time for the 31st annual Motorama Events Indoor Races and Shows. The dates have been set for February 21st and 22nd, 2009 in the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex, located at 2300 North Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Already scheduled for the 2-day extravaganza are Go-Kart Racing, Quarter Midgets, Robot Conflict, Speedshow, Arenacross, a Spina Bifida charity auction, and the fan favorite, Ms Motorama Pageant. The Tunerwar show is scheduled to return one day only on Saturday February 21st, 2009.

The large area will again be host to a packed house for the popular Arenacross. Over 960 bikes and four wheelers competed in the 2008 Motorama show. The Quarter Midgets brought in 149 midgets, and the Remote Control cars had an astounding 250 entries, not only from 12 different states, but many from Ontario, Canada. Forms for the 2009 show will be accessible by December 1, 2008.

A Rod and Custom Elite Invitational has been added to the program for both Saturday (21st) and Sunday (22nd) and will be held in the West Hall. There will be a purse payout to the best in each competition decided by top industry judges! Some competitions include, best custom, best rod, best street machine, best truck modified, best bike modified, best display and best of show!

Shannah Boring, the 2008 Ms Motorama Pageant winner, will soon pass the crown onto another new winner as Angel Marketing Group is currently organizing a new pageant for the 2009 Motorama show. For more information on how to become a contestant or a sponsor in the Pageant, contact Angel Marketing Group at (717) 805-6635, (570) 877-0468 or by website at www.msmotorama.com!

In 1995 the, Spina Bifida charity auction was introduced for the 17th annual Motorama Indoor Races and Speedshow. Through the years, the auction became larger as word spread about the importance of Spina Bifida prevention. In total, the 2008 Spina Bifida charity auction has helped to raise over $188,000. The 31st Annual Motorama show is hoping to raise that number above $200,000!

Motorama would like to thank all of the sponsors, participants, and fans for keeping this one of the premiere Auto/Racing shows in the United States!

Motoroma brings back Electric offroad.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Racers we are glad to announce that electric offroad will return to Motoroma this year. The event will be held in a building of its own so you do not have to worry about any nitro racers.

There will be plenty off heat and a great track so get ready. This event will have its own race director and crew so it will run smooth.

There will be more info to follow.

Thanks

interesting I checked on the msmotorama.com site, it besides the obvious spelling mistake "An Event to Remeber" in the header of the site, it doesn't appear the site has been updated for quite some time, there is no indication of pre-event activities, not even a picture of the 2008 winner!!
If it had relevant information it would be one thing but the site has not current content that would be helpful to would be contestants!!

The facility at Motorama is awesome!
1) Pitting is inside (pit passes are required)
2) Warm clothes is always a good idea in Feb. :freak:
3) Masks are also a good idea if you don't like breathing in nitro fumes for 3 days.. i didn't have one the past 2 years, and just bought 1 the other day, cause last year in pit lane, i almost past out..no joke.
4) Parts are available at a hobby shop setup on the premises, but i would recommend bringing whatever you can.. better safe then sorry
5) Food is on premises at multiple vendors throughout the complex.
6) Bathrooms are also throughout the complex.
7) power is a yes..
8) pack up at end of day.. YES! (leave tents, tables ect..)

If you have tents with walls, i would recommend it... otherwise the dust gets all in your stuff..
In past years I've always wished i went out on Thursday night to be there first thing Friday. this year i'm doing just that...the day goes by way to fast to not be there early.. i would recommend leaving Thursday night, and drive home Sunday night...instead of Friday - Monday
On Friday the lines for practice are crazy! 60 ppl on line and 15 on the stand... controlled practices, so even if you come off the track and get right back on line....you'll only get two 5 min runs ever hour.. which is not right cause your supposed to Marshall.. lol in other words practice is limited.

This is a copy of a post from RC Tech

GREAT NEWS!

They are going to run an 1/8th electric buggy class at Motorama this year! We will be running on the same 1/8th nitro track but in our own class. I don't have any details on how long the qualifiers and mains will be but I'm sure they'll be 5 minute quals and 10 minute mains. To sign up use the nitro sign up sheet and hand write 1/8th electric buggy on the bottom of the form.

The Motorama race is Feb 21-22 (Friday the 20th is practice) and in Harrisburg, PA.

I will have my Nitro MBX6 and Brushless MBX6. also bringing my brushless MBX5R for someone else to run (might be Kris Moore or Jason Ashton )

Perhaps we can get a list of who wants to go? Drop me a PM if you think you may want to race 1/8th electric and sign up. I'll put together and host an online list of who's going.
