I would upgrade. I was using an ICE before I upgraded the 35, now I just use the 35.
Took approx. 10 days to recieve back.
I believe it was 50 bucks to upgrade and they charged me around 10 bucks to ship. I know it was under 65 dollars.
CE was running an ad in the magazines, thats where I got my info on SOP.

bud3738 11-01-2008, 05:48 PM does the upgrade include a balancer?....or do you have to buy one seperate?
Porksalot4L 11-01-2008, 05:58 PM what makes it the better lipo charger?
what makes it the better lipo charger?
Probely because you can charge more that 5 or 6 amps.
No balancer I think you can buy a plug in one for 27 bucks.
Jake
Porksalot4L 11-01-2008, 06:04 PM i have a checkpoint and im not sure but i think it goes up to 10 amps
I was looking at several chargers some charge up to 8 but only 5 on lipo so that is why I guess the amps part.
Jake
katf1sh 11-01-2008, 10:08 PM it discharges at 35 amps and charges over 10 amps
still the standard for racing
think about the poor sap who put down 500.00 for a futaba charger 2 years ago..now it's toast you can't upgrade it for any amount of money..that stinks

Have you guys found an advantage discharging them?
Jake
katf1sh 11-02-2008, 12:18 AM smc cycles every pack on a gfx at 35 amps...
only advantage of a 35 amp discharge would be to warm the pack up before charging it..alot of tracks do not allow warm lipos at the tech table..now in on-road they haven't put a rule in place for warm lipo packs ....
so for peace of mind a 35 amp cycle now and than will let ya know when it's going south on ya...

They work fine on LiPO. Just not as idiot proof as the current LiPO chargers.

cneyedog 11-24-2008, 12:27 AM It runs about $65 including return shipping, you can e-mail them or give them a call to be sure, I sent my turbo35BL in July, I received back in about 2 weeks, that includes the time it took to get there and back.
