Pics look good. What classes are you guys running? I'm assuming this is a loose dirt type track as well? I'm about 2hrs away from you guys and would love to come up sometime and take a look around.

Tony, I just took another look at their pics and i think that building might be a bit chilly in the winter unless im missing something:) It's the closest indoor track i can find though for running the fun stuff:)

Hey Tony,

If they are open during the week I might be persuaded to run with you. I live close by as well. What kind of car do you have? I've always wanted a dirt oval car. We could probably pursaude Curt Hartman to join us.

To All,
As of 10:15pm Thursday November 6, 2008
I was informed that, Barnyard RC Raceway in Elgin Il. is closed per the owner.

If it will ever open again? I don't know.

But I will no longer promote, support or attend it if it does.

Pass the word on to others so they don't go out there expecting to run thier
RC's.

P.S.
I will be looking into a more reliable place to run our stuff in the
upcoming months.

Barnyard, Thanks for the update. Few questions though: What classes are you guys running(sprint, EDM, Late Model...etc)? Also wondering if the building has heat or not and if there are regular race dates scheduled? I'm sure there are some of us here in central il, eastern IA that would like to maybe make the trip over, just looking for a few more details. Thanks again.

The building has a wood burner that keeps the pit area warm, the track itself isn't heated, but we're brainstorming some ideas to keep it comfortable for the winter. At the moment we don't have classes or official race dates just yet. This track was just opened and we're trying to gauge the crowd that's interested so that we can plan some races for the near future. We have an I-Lapp system that will be installed soon and we're looking forward to having some exciting events in the near future. We'd love to have you come out and see the track; our goal is to have a fun track for everyone. Please let me know if you have any other questions. You can always send an email to barnyardraceway@aol.com.

Thanks for your interest, hope to see you soon!

Sounds good. I'll try and get there sometime soon. I'm likely going to be relocating to the Aurora area due to my wifes job here in the next few months, so that ought to put me close enough to do some racing for sure:) Thanks for the updates, much appreciated.
