Salt-Man 10-30-2008, 04:22 PM I am looking for a bunch of matchbox size blue jeeps , does anyone have any tips for me, I am totally clueless here, my friend races mud bogs and hands them out to the kids for free, this is his rig

scrambler81 10-30-2008, 08:12 PM Matchbox has a Jeep 4x4. The casting has been around a long time - it's a CJ, but the door openings are not shaped very well. It has a full cage, with the spare tire mounted where the back seat would go, and a whip antenna. Anyway, they recently released it in a blue very similar to your buddy's Jeep. I'm afraid I have no idea how you could find a bunch of them at once, but they are out there.
Salt-Man 10-30-2008, 08:47 PM Yes scrambler81 I believe you are referring to this one,

this is the one we are giving out now but they are hard to find, I am trying to get a hold of Mattel to see if I can buy them in bulk but it does not look promising, so I am looking for other avenues to pursue in acquiring something similar? Thanks for your input, I do appreciate it..Rick

Because they are Yuppie Jeeps.

Sorry but I have to disagree here. TJs are yuppie Jeeps, and lets not even get in to the 4 door wanna be hummer Jeeps. Look at the interior of a YJ compared to a TJ, the YJ still looks like a truck, the TJ looks like a car with its fancy little interior, air bags, cute little dash. YJ's have a nice gauge panel, you can replace the steering wheel with sweet aftermarket wheels because of no airbags, cant do that in a TJ. YJs have leaf spring solid axle suspension (real Jeep), TJs are coil over. YJs were the last real jeeps in my opinion. I wouldnt want a Jeep made after 96, they just don't look like real Jeeps anymore.
MudSlinger 11-19-2008, 10:14 AM Yuppie Jeeps my butt, lol. I made a huge mistake selling the blue one before I moved from Florida to NY, I thought, I wouldn't need a Jeep here, man was I wrong! I was jonesing for another one so bad I had to get one, so I picked up the black one from Craigslist for $2200. She has a way to go before it will be as nice as my blue one was, but at least I am back in a YJ! My two YJs...

DCPDGUY 11-19-2008, 12:32 PM No harm meant. When I worked at Chrysler we had a bunch of names for the cars.
Caravan=Crapavan
Durango=Dingo
Pacifica=Pashitica
Ram=Rump
etc.
I actually like the YJ's. And have owned a 78 J10 and a 89 XJ.
MudSlinger 11-19-2008, 01:14 PM It's cool, I am just very passionate about my YJs, lol. I would love to get an XJ too, lift it, throw some 33s on it, nice roof rack maybe. My wife drives a Liberty, so she thinks she is a Jeeper, lol.
Thomas Hint 11-19-2008, 01:51 PM At the small blue jeep store?
computer guy 11-19-2008, 02:28 PM My sugestion is to try Kmart, Target and Toys R US and Wally World to pick up as many as you can.
Perhaps an Online Dealer might be able to help. 1 Stop Diecast or Talk with Russ at Milezones. Diecast Alley is another Online Dealer.
