Our Toys For Tots race is coming up at the barn. This is always a big event and for a good cause. The race will be at Joe's Hobby Barn in Terre Haute, In. on Sunday November the 16th. Doors will open at 8:00am and racing will start at Noon. 2 heats and a Main. We will run any class that has 3 or more. The cost is 5.00 bucks plus atoy for each class. As for the main classes that usually run they are:

13.5 lipo rubber tire Nastruck
Legends
17.5 4 cell Nascar
13.5 lipo gear box truck

All classes that run 13.5 lipo will also run 27 turn stock 6 cell together. This is our biggest race of the year and we always have a blast.Just ask any one that has came in the past.

A lipo 13.5 will most likely not go any faster than you guys made the 6 cell stocks go. Like doty said, you can only carry so much speed on a little track like ours. :)

P.S. Yes we are INSANE!!! LOL

so we run a 13.5 motor.. Lipo stick and it's suppose to be about the same speed as 6 cell stock?????

Where Adam Rayls??????? are these guys smoking something there???? please tell me I'm wrong!!! 17.5 maybe but 13.5????

I would agree that a 13.5 is WAY faster than 27t. However, at the barn, maybe not too much of an advantage. The lipo thing, not any faster than a 6cell, especially at the begining of a run, it just never falls off, not that the 4600's we were running fell of either.

well then 17.5 should be the motor.. now as for 4600's.. whose got those?? I still run 3300's

How about this. In order to keep attendance up for the toys for tots race, lets make it 17.5 or stock. We wont run the 13.5 brushless. That should even it up for the race. Lipos are optional, but min weight must be met.

Will that work for you moss and adam?

The rubber tire nastruck is going to be a blast. I have some tires if you need some. Run either a 17.5 or 13.5 brushless or stock, and lipo or 6 cell.

P.S. Trust me, i ran a 17.5 this past weekend and kept up with the 13.5's. You cant use all the power a 13.5 has.

Is anybody going to race gearbox truck this Sunday? Since I still won't have the Nastruck ready, all I can run is gearbox truck this week.

Have we agreed on a motor spec? Personally, I don't care, but since we've been saying 13.5 and LiPo (for truck) for a month or more, we might be screwing someone who bought a 13.5 motor if we change the spec to 17.5.

On the other hand, 17.5 would be more fair to anyone who is still running brushed stock. But how many truck guys are going to run brushed motors? Let's hear from you truck guys. If you want to run gearbox truck for a series or even just for the Toys for Tots, what motor spec is going to get you to run?

OK - I've got a 13.5 in the car now from dirt season, so I'm going to leave it in. If we decide to go 17.5 for TT, I'll switch it.

Well its sounding like 17.5 is the way to go, so I'll put one in for Sunday. Like I said, its no big deal to me - I already have one.

If anybody needs a 13.5 for Nastruck, I've got an extra one (Novak with Ribbed Can and Orange ring). Will sell it for $40.

Shouldn't a trophy race be held closer to the rules? How about editing the rules to say "17.5, 4-cell, any body... This way I can run a World Gt Vette body instead of having to purchase a Nascar body for one race...:)

The rules for trucks were established last spring as 13.5 brushless or 27T stock with lipo's or 4600 NIMH. As has been said before with short track racing you can only go so fast. The real trick is to get the handleing down and drive it. For those who can't handle the speed they will destroy their truck and be out of the way. If you want to race a 17.5 that is ok. Race whatever you want as long as you don't go over a 13.5. If you are going to chance the rules for a class please consult me first.

Good racing today. For my two cents worth in gearbox truck, it didn't look like the 13.5's were turning laps any faster than the stock motor trucks from last year.
