Nice looking set. Of course, I'm only interested in the Mustangs. If anyone wants to trade for their shop tools, please let me know.

Looks like a sharp set. Didn't they already do a '67/68 Mustang in that shade of blue? Love the color on the GTO and silver Charger...glad they didn't do the Charger in a predicable bright orange, green or red.

What is that tampo on the front fender of the blue Mustang, other than the prancing horse & Mustang? I've never seen anything like that.

I'll be looking for the last 3, but only for the accessories. I have the other accessories, I either bought them or made them.

Hi Bob,

Very close - we did a very light shade of blue but it had a little more green in MCG 7. However this car is a different color blue and features some extra emblems. Ford called this the Lone Star Limited but everyone else might know it as a Blue Bonnet Special. Here is an interesting article about these cars.

These also feature our new Ford styled steel wheel which is much thinner in width and smaller in diameter. It gives this car a great stance.

Thanks,

Matt

That's cool...not familiar with the Lone Star Limited...I thought that looked like a Texas outline on that badge.

Speaking of '67-68 Mustangs, I'd love to see GL do a '67-68 Cougar..JL did a nice one, but I can always buy more Cougars. I grew up around them (my folks have 3 1:1s), and they are a favorite of mine.

This is a 'Must Have' set ! The color of the previous 67 Mustang was Lt Aqua . This one is blue . Im still waiting for a Dk Blue version ...
I wouldnt mind a bit if the 70 Charger was done in Hemi Orange or Ultra violet with Magnum wheels & white letter tires .. . Chargers so far include med green , white & red . Custom one in Yellow .

I think there was a dark blue '67 2+2 in the 2 packs a while back, or one of the 5 car sets.

Matt, Thanks for the info. I give GL huge props for doing their research and giving us a cool special edition like this. Please keep those special edition Mustangs coming. They are exactly what I want in my collection. Is there any chance of a High Country Special (other than the promo I saw) in the works? A version with the Ski package would be awesome!

BTW....I'm liking the new style wheels. Correct wheels really do make a difference. IMO, the wheels and tires make up half the looks of the car, just like the 1:1 cars.

Thanks again,

Skip

Hi Skip,

Glad you like the special edition Mustangs. We don't have plans just yet for another High Country Special in 1/64th. But we will be doing one in 1/18th later in 2009. Keep your eyes peeled for that one - it should look great.

The '68 GTX package says convertible, but it looks like a hardtop car. Hard to tell from the pic. Is it a soft-top in the up position?:)

Ive got this set coming . Will trade all the accessories for a blue 67 Mustang .
There was a DK Blue Mustang before , but it was a fastback . I want a '67 coupe in that color ... The GTX is a hdtp w/ vinyl top . Package is an error ...
