MissouriMike 10-28-2008, 02:28 PM The first "Thank You" goes to Gerald for setting this up - what a great idea! I'm sitting at my desk this morning mulling over if I really want to grade some late work (Yes I'll get it done today) and my buddy walks in. I guess I can delay that grading for a moment and check my mail down in the office. I look as we walk into the mail room. There is a box...sitting in front of my mail box...Hmmm it is from a diecast company....Dang it! My day just got a whole lot better! The box is from Gerald ...Hmmm Imagine that! Well I dance all the way back to my room and sit at my desk and open this box and what to my shining eyes did appear, not a sled and reindeer but there was a GreenLight High Country Special 1968 Mustang, sweet car! I dig some more there are two Hotwheels one is a 8 crate and one is a Muscle tone BUT They are special because they are a winner and a loser ET cars from AutoFest 07! I NEEDED these cars fro the Fest collection! WOOOO HOOO! But wait theres more! (I'm begining to feel that Ron Popeel is typing this) In the box is a Lightning Lane.com 65 Chevy (NOT CHOVY!) Nova Sweet car! Along the lines of JL there is a Mopar or No Car 1970 Plymouth Baracuda! and an Import Heat Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution...Do I see White rims...is that a white interior? A WL COOL! And I saved the best for last! There is the absolutly coolest all white Maisto chopped bug. Now this is not a regular bug or even the chase bug....It is a German Toy Fair Car! The all white ride with the light greay Toy Fair 2006 tampo on top is priceless to me! Gerald this car will be with my collection until I pass it on to my diecast heirs! SWEET! I'm doing the dance today. Hey there is something rattiling around in the bottom of the box......**Giggle** OTTO'S SCHOOL BUS! Sweet it's going to stay on my desk now! The Teacher has a bus! Oh annd I'm living up to my title of Secratery of Freedom in the WLLM and the Evolution is now breathing again! GeraldE61 10-30-2008, 09:21 AM Gerald you sly dog! Dragnet_Supporter 10-30-2008, 12:23 PM I got a great BWF from ECchopper...Hot August Nights '49 Merc. I'm scratching one more JL BWF off my list. Thanks, Rob, this is a sweet car for sure  I'll post pics when I can. It's been a busy week, and next week looks to be the same. But a new BWF to add to the collection has been a bright spot in a hectic week  Lpgeoteacher 10-30-2008, 12:41 PM Your welcome Chris, and for all to know, Chris was my inspiration for RAOK day. Here are some close ups of most of them.... First, I got one of the SEMA cars like Brad above and a new Treasure Hunt. My daughter wanted to open the TH up and play. I told her I couldn't because it was a gift. I will have to give her the one I scored at K-day! My first discovery in the package were a couple of cool WLs! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/centershock/RAOK6.jpg (this could be my favorite....) http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/centershock/RAOK7.jpg And then a cool Autofest Traction car... http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/centershock/RAOK4.jpg But not just any Autofest car! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/centershock/RAOK5.jpg Finally, Paul knows I have been collecting 2 main things. Cars with the serial number 18 and then the obvious, BWFs!!! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/centershock/RAOK2.jpg But, this is no normal BWF! It is a BWF that is #18!!!! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/centershock/RAOK3.jpg THANK YOU PAUL!!!! YOU ARE THE MAN! And, for those that are not sure what I am talking about when I mention the #18, check out this thread... http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=159326 I have a few more 18s that I got as RAOKS from Paul and Dennis (lovemy71camar) in the past. I need to get them all together for another photo shoot! Thanks again Paul! You are welcome! Dragnet_Supporter 10-30-2008, 09:56 PM Wow, RAOK day has proven to be a very generous day indeed. I know it has already been said, but this was a fine suggestion Gerald. It always does my heart good to see how the members of this board and fellow hobbiests interact and share the joy of collecting these little cars. I would like to say a personal thank you to all who participated. In these days of product shortage, it has been an excellent reminder of why we are all here. wlpaul 10-30-2008, 09:57 PM So, Nick, You liked the box?! I'm so glad you do...sorry it was so late, but then there was a ROAK Day, and there you go! You are most welcome. If I find any more 18's they'll be headed your way! Woody68RS 10-30-2008, 10:00 PM I received 2 RAOK boxes !! First off was a Cars Chase Fred from Adrian (Plankowner) and that was followed by a Car D'Lane Chevelle from Brock(NWovalfan):thumbsup: Thanks guys you made my day!!! I didn't have either of them!! http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i175/Woody68RS/brockraok.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i175/Woody68RS/adrianraok.jpg Dragnet_Supporter 10-30-2008, 10:11 PM Nice number, BTW, Nick. I was attempting to collect cars with 9 or 99 (or any series of nines in sequence) on them for a while, without a great deal of success. You, yourself gave me a number 9 on the Rock-n-Roll wagon you designed for Johnny Jam. I came in very close at CARnival, getting number 8 of the New England contingent's BWF '69 Camaro. I wonder if the next gathering will get me a number 7 and continue the countdown, or get back on track with another 9? BLUUBUDDAH 10-30-2008, 10:12 PM I got a box from none other than Gerald:thumbsup: he sent the 2 cars I was missing from Autofest , the Wenger car and the Custom contest car THANKS AGAIN "G" Bill ViperMan 10-30-2008, 11:37 PM Wow I am stunned! I was trying to trade for a Lightning Fest Viper but since I don't have much for trade bait it didn't work out. I am short on the $ front so I was going to have to hold out and pick one up later. To my suprise I received one in the mail and it was from the person I tried to trade it from. Thanks Very Much Cal I really do appreciate it! NYSWLHUNTER 10-30-2008, 11:42 PM Well alright! Seems tn be this was a great idea. Hope everyone is happy! 22 is my number! Scott Moen 10-31-2008, 08:22 AM Hi All, Well I want to say THANK YOU to John (Prayingmantis) for a wonderful RAOK for my Mustang collection. John sent a beautiful black nickel plated JL Mustang and display for it. http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l182/WisMach1/Misc002.jpg Thanks again John. Sorry it took me a few days to post a picture. Have a great Friday and weekend all. Scott ECchopper 10-31-2008, 09:53 AM I got a great BWF from ECchopper...Hot August Nights '49 Merc. I'm scratching one more JL BWF off my list. Thanks, Rob, this is a sweet car for sure  I'll post pics when I can. It's been a busy week, and next week looks to be the same. But a new BWF to add to the collection has been a bright spot in a hectic week  Glad to have brightened your day a little, Robert. Wished it could have been more. GeraldE61 10-31-2008, 10:03 AM I've received two boxes, one from Streaker with some vintage things he picked up at a Antique store (Mustang, A red plastic car from that looks like a 40s sedan, and a Tootsietoy Mercedes), a Playboy car I didn't have and a Green Light Club Cuda, very sweet, thanks Carl. The other was from Sheffer Enterprises, I'm not sure who that is, but it had three cars in it, one Cuda Zinger I didnt have, a Ford Panel Van (the flat black one), and a one Gold series car in it (can't remember the make). Didn't have that one either, great box. Thanks. Looks like a succesful campaign. Gerald DadsCoronet 10-31-2008, 10:11 AM First, I'll post a pic of the RAOK I got from ECchopper: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/DadsCoronet/DSC01787.jpg Thanks again, Rob! Lucky me, I received a second RAOK.:hat: This one came from NWovalfan http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/DadsCoronet/DSC01790.jpg The Vette is a WL from the Road Trip box set. The Nomad is from TriChevy/3 with a wheel swap. Thanks again, Brock! GeraldE61 10-31-2008, 01:05 PM Sorry to have to post this, but I feel is must be heard. A hobbytalk member received an e-mail from another member which blasted that member for not sending a package and other things. Now here's the kicker, he did send a package (and a darn good one) which has not reached it's destination yet. This really bothers me, as there was no requirement for anyone to participate. I do not know the user name of the person that sent the e-mail but I will say this....Shame on you, Shame on you. You have just taken some of my enjoyment away from this event. Gerald Dragnet_Supporter 10-31-2008, 02:25 PM I haven't had word that my package showed at it's destination either, but not worried about it just yet. It was in the form of an order, so was not actually sent from the shipper in a manner that would get it there at the same time as those who shipped personal packages. Probably the person will now figure who sent the package when it arrives, but I guess that's a moot point anyway. MudSlinger 10-31-2008, 02:36 PM I have not heard that mine was received yet either, but it had a loooong way to go from NY to where it's destination was. I did send it priority so I hope it gets there soon :( Gerald, don't let one jerk spoil a great thing like this! Don't let that user take ANY enjoyment from you because this was indeed a great idea, and I want to thank you for putting it all together. Lpgeoteacher 10-31-2008, 02:42 PM Mine is still on my desk at work I just got the address I was looking for today. It will be going out. I feel it is the RAOK not necessarly the day it was sent. Remember people we are the hobby. It is what we make it. Lpgeoteacher 10-31-2008, 02:43 PM Gerald, don't let one jerk spoil a great thing like this! Don't let that user take ANY enjoyment from you because this was indeed a great idea, and I want to thank you for putting it all together. AMEN! Spoken well! streaker 10-31-2008, 03:23 PM I guess mine hasn't gotten there either...... chenty 10-31-2008, 06:22 PM  Mine has not got there, thought it would by now:confused: SO, I guess it will get there when it gets there  wannafbody 10-31-2008, 07:19 PM I received a nice selection of Mustang's, Firebird's and Camaro's from another member. He even included a couple loose Wl's. Thanks JasonZ 10-31-2008, 07:58 PM Sorry to have to post this, but I feel is must be heard.
