Do they still make 27 turn brushed motors...LOL

17.5 4 cell as the "slower" class.

Why not wait a few weeks until Mike makes the official post?

I think we still should be able to run brush motors cuz it fun to work on the motors and they are well worth it:thumbsup:

What is faster a 17.5 or Stock 27t motor..

If you can tune a 27T perfectly, it can match a 17.5. On paper, they can produce 130 Watts of power @ 7.2V. Most racers don't have enough experience to tune brushed motors perfectly, so on a regular basis, the 17.5 produces slightly more power.

17.5 will usually win. If Bill A., Jody Miller, or the Salvas's put in a stock motor then a 17.5 the 17.5 should be a half a lap or more faster. The brushless motors are just way more efficiant, and can hang up front as well.

yeah it's up to the racing organization to only approve motors once a year! hopefully we can rely on ROAR for that! Talkin to Mike Russel (roar oval commitee) it's seems that they have the best intentions! It is the end of the year so it's really not surprising to see a manufacturer introduce a new design.I don't really mind once a year but I do think they need to be able to stock the hobby shops immediately in order to get Roar's final approval. right now i'm seeing full out approvals then the product arrives for the consumer mid season. if they're not ready to stock the hobby shops right away then it shouldn't get final approval for that year. That should stop the motor of the week perception!

Actually, they are switching manufacturers entirely.

We all should expect there to be new, revised brushless motors on the horizon now that the big motor companies are involved vs. just Novak. Only makes sense, doesn't it?

Yes, until they continue to change there motors every month and the racers get tired of wasting money on the new latest and greatest. Does that make sense..............And they will also be Roar Approved before they hit the streets.

now where were all these "motor of the month" critics when we were running hand wound 19 turns?

we all knew it was going to happen...

look at lipo's a new one every week
so far we have tested 5 different 17.5 motors on the track and they all run very close to the same as well as lipo's..

it may not be as bad as we think? or you could keep hoping novak get's it right..

I like the open motor rule but let's have themdo there homework submitt one motor than keep it like that for a while. The big T likes to introduce half A$$ things to the market get the fast cash and then revamp their stuff at the expense to the racer.

Plus they more than likely will ship you the wrong order anyway.
