With everything changing to Lipo some of us are still running the old 4600mah 4cell packs. Now im shure many people have there own opinion but what Charging method puts out the most power. Also what Discharge cutoff puts up better numbers. Dead short or not does it decrease battery life and Put out more power or does it just kill them.
What is needed to get max power out of your 4cell pack..

I beleive that if you dead short them right, they will last and have plenty of power. Just my opinion. Someone will probably disagree.

I agree. It also make things easier. As far as the charge rate, I charge at 8 amps since the matcher of my batteries does the same.

charge 8 amps discharge/balance to .9 per for the first 10 runs store with voltage
after that charge at 8 and deadshort and should run pretty good for 6 months

TQ Cells
Just before charging the battery pack for the first run, using a tray such as the Integy 0-30 (http://www.tqcells.com/images/030.jpg) or Trinity DPD (http://www.tqcells.com/images/DPD.jpg) individually discharge each cells (0-30: Until the lights go dim) (DPD: Set at 1.0V per cell ... 5A linear or 30A pulse)
Then, charge at 7A - 5mV per cell cutoff. (4-cell=0.02 ... 6-cell=0.03)
Re-Peak just before going out on the track at 7A - 2mV per cell cutoff. (0.01)
After your run on the track, and as soon as you're back to your pit ... (pack is still warm) discharge the battery pack at 35A down to 1V per cell ... 4-cell=4.00V ... 6-cell=6.00V.
Once the battery pack has completely cooled down (can be next day), using a tray such as the Integy 0-30 (http://www.tqcells.com/images/030.jpg) or Trinity DPD (http://www.tqcells.com/images/DPD.jpg) individually discharge each cells (0-30: Until the lights go dim) (DPD: Set at 1.0V per cell ... 5A linear or 30A pulse)
Then, put 2100mAh back in the battery pack (1080 seconds of charge @ 7A).
Let the battery pack rest in that state. ***
Monitor cells' voltage now and then, and if need be, put more charge in the battery pack so the cells' voltage stay above 1.1V.

Does this go for your packs alone or All matchers out there..
Does this method bring all the Voltage out in the run..

Well the first thing you do is find the nearest battery recycling center and dispose of all the round cells you have. Though an alternate that will help ur ROI is putting them on ebay! Then, purchase a lipo and lipo compatable charger and repeak, repeak, repeak! And repeak as necessary!:thumbsup:

I don't think that was the question :confused:.
I got a feeling someone asking how to charge a 4600 isn't ready to plop $300 down for a battery and charger just race a class that is way too fast for them.
Honestly, I just wish people would consider the 15 year old kid with the paper route more :(
