View Full Version : Halloween Spooktacular Bash at BFG
Tdevil 10-26-2008, 06:53 PM This will be a fun, party type event to be held on Halloween night, October 31. It will start late and run late so parents can get trick or treating activities out of the way before coming out to play.
Heffae is going to take the lead on this and will be adding details to this thread.
John
LOSI_Duck 10-26-2008, 08:44 PM Hey Heffae, Id like to make the 3 team race let me know the scoop!
HEFFAE 10-27-2008, 12:40 AM Here is an idea of the format for the Halloween Spook'r Bash:
-11:30 start time.
-$10.00 practice/race fee per person. $5.00 of racers fee will be paid back to the winning team. This is a flat rate, no membership discounts. This also includes pre & post racing practice.
-teams will be drawn on race night.
-Three racers per team.
-Each driver must race one of the following three: slash, 2-wd buggy, truck.
-Continuous 1-hour race, each driver will race a vehicle twice totaling two 10 minutes each, transponder will be switched from teams vehicle to count total number of team laps.
-Each team will have one marshall, one pit and one racing.
Any suggestions - please list them here as we can change the format.

Tdevil 10-27-2008, 08:59 PM Sounds like we may have to go with the masses on this one Heffae. It is up to you, but it is sounding more like 10:00 is the way to go.
Whatcha think?
HEFFAE 10-27-2008, 09:24 PM Give me ideas guys, I'll stop scaring the crap out of the neighborhood kids early to get things going, just need some ideas. If your going to lock the house up and turn off the lights-shame on you. What time do we want to start, let me know, I'll find the happy medium with the mass suggestions?

I'm fine with 10 pm.... how many 1 hour races are you running? I was looking at 1 , 2 at the most. If it at 10pm I am back in, no pressure....LOL
LOSI_Duck 10-27-2008, 09:38 PM should you do a 1 hour race or a 250 lap race, first team to 250 is the winner:thumbsup:

LOSI_Duck 10-27-2008, 10:06 PM ???? What If You Get Paired Up With A Dude With No Slash Or Buggy Or Truck Lets Say Its Me Revo And Mike We Dont Have A Slash
they should draw 1 from each group
HEFFAE 10-27-2008, 10:26 PM Looks like 10:00 is better, still open but two say 10:00 is better for them, need more responses.
If we had enough 4-wd we could.
We could do the first to 250 laps (give or take) or whatever the set number is. Would you prefer 10 or 15 minutes before changing over to the next vehicle, have to keep in mind that some racers batteries might not make it past 15 minutes.
We could run 30 laps with each vehicle and then switch transponder but then we would have to keep track of the laps for each team. If we go 15 minutes, once the 15 minute timer sounds we would lay the next vehicle down where the last one was and switch transponders, most laps at the end of lets say 1.5 hours - WINS. This way each racer will be racing their vehicle twice for 30 minutes total. We can still fine tune it, liking the suggestions though.
HEFFAE 10-27-2008, 10:30 PM Drawing from three different hats might be the way to go with me, I would have my name in the: buggy and truck hats, once my name is picked - it's pulled out of the other hat.

that would be fine, I would say 10 minutes so some of the new people won't be pushing their stuff to the limits. But I like the 1.5 hour thing. Basically we run 12 laps to 14 laps per 5 minute race. that should make it about 200 laps at the end of that time.
Question, what if someone breaks or has other issues during their time? They can switch early correct. and how would you watch over this on the time?
HEFFAE 10-27-2008, 10:43 PM Back-up vehicle of the same: truck, buggy or Slash or a real fast mechanic. In other words, you break, your going to lose laps just switching the transponder over. Same driver drives the new (teamates vehicle).
Tdevil 10-27-2008, 11:32 PM Trophy girls?
Heffae, you haven't hooked up with XXX to bring some talent in from Chicago have you?

I will have my rentals available for use, free of charge for the evening if needed.

Thanks John, I'm sure this opens it up for more racers if they are looking for a fun night.
"Trophy girls, XXX" those words should not be used in the same sentence unless your definition of trophy girls is different than mine but I don't think so.
FishRC 10-28-2008, 08:56 AM I'm going to be there. Will have a 13.5 truck and Slash. Thanks Paul! Talk about falling back in time.... I thought I'd never use one of these motors again. Looking at the Slash's powerplant and what is bolted in my FOX .... the only real differance is 25 years.
If some one will be there with a mamba motor, I'd like to take some measurements off it, will only take a moment.
LOSI_Duck 10-28-2008, 02:56 PM :hat: Happy Belated Birthday Fish!!!!
If I come along Friday night I will have to bring you a cake and candles. (No not XXX laying under the table with his .....sticking through the cake either.)
John do you have a fire extinguisher handy? LOL
 Tonia ;)
HEFFAE 10-28-2008, 03:17 PM A few have said 10:30 would be better for them so they can get stuff done with the families and get set up at the track, a few have also said 10:00. Right now it looks to be closer to 10:30 with a 1 1/2 hour race, how's that sounding? If we are eliminating more than a few starting at 10:30 instead of 10:00 - then we'll shoot for 10:00.
Please respond:
Uncle E 10-28-2008, 03:36 PM I want it to start at 10pm show aint gonna start until 10;30 anyways.
Leonard 10-28-2008, 03:41 PM Wow fish, a slash, yur gonna have to come race that bad boy on a regular day. Happy Belated B-day. You up for retirement yet? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Agreed, 10:00pm is a much more manageable time to start for me also.
scrmngchkn 10-28-2008, 04:44 PM :dude:I'll up for being there by 10 pm, and race like we did on New Years Eve.
LOSI_Duck 10-28-2008, 05:34 PM .....
LOSI_Duck 10-28-2008, 07:57 PM I'll be there before 10

I had Troy (Fantom) take a look at one of the Titans and he said there was nothing he could do with it as far as taking it apart and rebuilding it. That endbell looks very difficult to get off without destroying it to me.

NAME CONTACT # TRUCK and/or 2-WD and/or SLASH
scrmngchkn 10-29-2008, 06:46 PM What happens if more slashes are there than trucks or buggies? I'm bringing my CR and Slash.:dude:

I was just kidding. Had mine all set up tonight, Troy is very right, chances of doing anything and haveing anything left that might pass any tech, is about zero.
HEFFAE 10-30-2008, 07:33 AM What happens if more slashes are there than trucks or buggies? I'm bringing my CR and Slash.:dude:
At some point, you are correct, if we had 8 Slashes & 3 buggies & 2 trucks - it wouldn't be much of a team race. Bringing every vehicle that you have to fit one of the three classes will help even things out. Friday night might be some vehicle adjusting going on.
HEFFAE 10-30-2008, 07:43 AM Here is a continues racer update so far, send me a PM if you think you can make it so we can post it for everyone. (I don't remember everyone's name who signed-up at the track last night so please send me a PM)
