This is the story of my first slotcar in the era of 1969/70.It is an Atlas Pontiac Gp that I bought from a friend who lived in my building. At the time I was still fighting with my parents to get me a slotcar set despite my poor academic showing at the time but that is another story( They had Battery operated sets for 8$ but they stunk then as they do now:).
Any how the car was originally light blue w/ a white top. The car shown on the left is a actually a piece I bought at a slotcar show to use as a prototype for my resincasting project that was the same as my Pontiac originally was.But it is not the orginal car.
The second car in the Blue / flat black paint scheme represents what I did to my car for my budding racing career at my friend Warren's house (He was the one who turned me on to slotcars-A real bad influence as you can see :))
This car is actually a resincast repro I did that rides on a grey painted T-jet chassis. I even cast the Atlas style hubcaps & glued them on to the T-jet hub's for authenticities sake.Otherwise there is not even a drop of original Atlas DNA in it.
The 3rd car is my original Atlas Pontiac as it appears now.In the '70's
( late '72 ?) I repainted it flat green & made it into a convertible using the w/s from the light blue Atlas Olds convertible body that I bought from Sheepshead Bay Hobbies fom his "50 cents" box.Why I passed up that Atlas '32 Ford P/U I will never know & always regret along with not buying that plain brown AFX Nomad when the AFX first came out but that is another story( I bought the green metallic 2-tone one).

PS c/o "Another one from the archives" as I finally posted the picture.
