The green one was originally light yellow painted green with the hood scoops removed.
The yellow convertible was a TuffOnes with the top removed & the interior made out of black painted paper with seats & dashboard added. The convt. boot is painted masking tape.Things were REAL Primitive in the '70's unlike now with resincasting & more advanced methods of interior & general fabrication !

There is nothing wrong with them!!! Not every firebird had a big engine under the hood, so the scoops wre optional.. My 69 firebirdy came with a sprint 6cyl and a powerglide 2speed. And as for the drop top, you made do with the materials at hand!! Something I still do!!! Shhhh don't tell anyone, but the back bumper on the surfer van is a chunk of HO scale telephone pole!!!! My initial instinct was to say now you can redo them, but my gut says otherwise, as I'm sure yours does too. These cars show how far ahead of your peers you were, who were busy making mountains of cut wheelwell bodies for Bill Hall to repair, while you sir were doing customs!! And this is why they are as they were. Be proud of them!!! You were miles ahead of alot of us!!!!!:thumbsup:
