I wake up & its 2008 A.D. again !:woohoo:
Any how here are 2 V'dub's I did in '71-'72.I believe they are Lancer bodies on Cobramite body clips. The Beetle was originally Turqouise & repainted dark blue. The green Bus & the Beetle are lighted & the lights still work.

roadrner 10-25-2008, 11:10 PM Never had a Bug but one of my friends did back in the day. The only problem, it didn't go any faster the 45 MPH. :freak:
Needless to say, we didn't let him drive too much. ;) rr

Joe and Tracy,
6' 3" here and drove a 72 Super Beetle (yellow) in the 80s for a while. It was my Dads and he got it new. A 74 Dart (yellow with Starsky n Hutch type black stripe) took its place because, it had a 360 4 barrel and was just plain fast!
Bugs were so much fun to drive in the snow....I spun mine in parking lots and then jammed on the Emergency brake...YaHooooooooooooooooooooooo
Bob...Thanks Neal for the memory lane VW pictures of yer slots...zilla

45 MPH ? Was it falling off of a cliff at the time? LOL

slotcarman12078 10-26-2008, 02:06 AM Even when you didn't want them to!!! That's what happens when you get the back brakes done and forget you need the front ones too.. 1st snow and WHOOOOOPS!!! Good thing noone was coming the other way!!!
T-jetjim 10-26-2008, 06:35 AM Neal- Did you paint those Lancer bodies on the outside? I have a lancer vw van (part of an ebay purchase) and the guy did a much better job of painting than I did back then.
Once your retirement comes through, we will watch for you doing the Speed Racer thing.
Jim

1) Get a hair cut young man!
2) Do you call that music?
In my day, that would have gone along with the other fatherly advice you mentioned. :drunk: :hat: :freak: :dude:
